Car Service in Canada

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Service
One pickup and one destination: Toronto Pearson to a hotel on Front Street, Montréal–Trudeau to the Palais des congrès, Calgary airport to a lodge in Banff. For an airport pickup, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Outbound and return go into one booking, and you set both pickup times yourself. It suits a ski week from Calgary to Banff, a day at a congress in Montreal or a trip from Vancouver to Whistler. The return matters most in Stampede week and on Grand Prix weekend, when vehicles are taken early. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start.
Hourly Service
A working day in Canada can lead from a bank tower in Toronto's Financial District to a client in Mississauga, or from the Palais des congrès in Montreal to a meeting on the island. Hourly service is booked by time: name where the day begins and ends and how long it lasts, and one chauffeur with one vehicle is yours for those hours. Put the day's appointments in the booking so the chauffeur knows the program in advance.

Getting Around Canada

Business in Canada gathers in a few large centres, and the distances between them are long. Toronto has the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, with 442,000 sq ft of exhibit space on Front Street West and Union Station beside it. Montreal's Palais des congrès covers 1.4 million sq ft between downtown and the old port. In Calgary the BMO Centre reached just over 1 million sq ft in 2024, the Vancouver Convention Centre has 466,500 sq ft on the waterfront, and in Ottawa the Rogers Centre Ottawa, the former Shaw Centre, stands beside the Rideau Canal.

One appointment needs only a one-way transfer. A day with several addresses, booked by the hour, keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for the time you reserve, and an assistant who books for colleagues keeps every trip in one account.

Two VIA Rail stations lie outside downtown: Ottawa's stands on Tremblay Road, some 4 km east of downtown, and Edmonton's is about 5.5 km north-west of it. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. Some addresses are hard to reach by car: for a hotel in Old Montreal or inside the walls of Old Québec, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

Airport Transfers in Canada

Toronto Pearson handled about 47.3 million passengers in 2025 and lies 28 km from downtown Toronto. Vancouver International counted 26,913,561 passengers, 13 km from downtown Vancouver; Montréal–Trudeau 22,364,685, 19 km from Montreal; and Calgary 19,409,550, 14 km from the city centre. Edmonton International had about 8.14 million, 31 km from Edmonton. Toronto also has Billy Bishop airport, only 4 km from downtown.

Toronto Pearson, Billy Bishop, Vancouver, Montréal–Trudeau, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Winnipeg and Ottawa have US preclearance; Victoria, Kelowna, Québec City, Saskatoon and Abbotsford do not. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur.

For the flight home, work from the drive: 40–55 minutes from downtown Toronto to Pearson, 25–35 minutes from Montreal to Trudeau. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel

Many Canadian trips are one-way runs of two or three hours, and a car takes your bags from door to door. Banff is 130 km from Calgary, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, and Whistler is 124 km from Vancouver, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, on the Sea-to-Sky Highway. From Toronto, Niagara Falls is 130 km, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. From Montreal, Mont-Tremblant is 138 km, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, Ottawa 199 km, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes, and Québec City 254 km, 2 hours 55 minutes to 3 hours 55 minutes. Victoria lies on Vancouver Island, so the journey from the mainland includes a BC Ferries sailing.

Trips to the United States are done with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border. The Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor and Detroit has been open since 27 July 2026, and the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge at Niagara Falls takes NEXUS members only, so a car with other passengers uses another bridge. Works at the Lacolle crossing, on the road from Montreal to New York State, last until winter 2027. Visitors who need an ESTA must have it approved before they cross into the US by land, and they receive their I-94 record at the land port. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups, Events and Winter Travel

Canada's calendar has clear peaks. The Grand Prix du Canada runs on a May weekend in Montreal, the Jazz Festival and Just for Laughs follow in the summer, and the Calgary Stampede takes place on 9–18 July 2027. Winterlude in Ottawa runs on 29 January–15 February 2027 and the Carnaval de Québec on 5–14 February. In Toronto the film festival fills September, and the Alaska cruise season at Vancouver runs to mid-October. Banff, Whistler and Mont-Tremblant open their ski seasons in the late autumn.

A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load. When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a group lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.

Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Stampede week, the Grand Prix and the ski holidays. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your car service with Bookinglane.

Can I request a child seat for a transfer in Canada?

Child seats are requested in the booking form: choose a booster or an infant and child safety seat and the number you need. Vehicle availability varies by market.

What should I know about travelling by road in Canada?

Vehicles registered in Québec must have winter tires from 1 December to 15 March. Inside Banff National Park, any time you pull over you need a Parks Canada pass, the Town of Banff included, and Moraine Lake Road is closed to private vehicles. Highway 99 is the only road to Whistler, Victoria needs a BC Ferries crossing, and a ride into the United States needs the right travel documents.

Is it better to travel between Canadian cities by train or by car?

VIA Rail Corridor trains link Ottawa, Montréal and Québec City, and VIA also serves Toronto's Union Station. The car is the better choice when your flight and the train timetable do not match, when the hotel is far from the station, or when you travel with ski bags, children or a group.

My flight is delayed: does the airport pickup still work?

Yes. The chauffeur follows your flight, so the pickup follows the actual landing. Complimentary waiting time is included with airport pickups and is counted from the actual landing, which leaves room for customs and baggage claim.

Which major events take place in Canada every year, and can you arrange transfers for them?

Beyond the Grand Prix, the Stampede and the Toronto film festival, Osheaga fills Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal around the turn of July and August, and the Canadian National Exhibition runs at Exhibition Place in Toronto from late August to Labour Day. Transfers can be booked for a few people or for a whole group; reserve early for those weeks and book the return in the same reservation.

How do toll roads work in Canada, and are permits needed anywhere?

Highway 407 ETR near Toronto has no toll booths: it bills by transponder or by licence-plate photo. Since June 2025 no tolls are charged on Highway 407 East beyond Brock Road. The Gordie Howe International Bridge is a toll bridge, and the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island charges only when you leave the island. For Banff, a Parks Canada pass applies, and for a group that needs Moraine Lake, write to support before the trip because Moraine Lake Road admits only the Parks Canada shuttle service, residents of the lodge on the lake and commercial vehicles licensed for 11 passengers or more.
