Getting Around Whistler

Whistler is a mountain resort on Highway 99, the Sea-to-Sky Highway, which is its road link to Squamish and Vancouver; there are few alternate routes. The Whistler Conference Centre has more than 40,000 sq ft of meeting space: its largest room covers 16,500 sq ft, and a general session can seat up to 1,500 people.

For a day that combines sessions at the conference centre with a site visit in Squamish, 60 km south, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, book hourly chauffeur service: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

If you are staying in a condo or chalet outside the village, the exact address matters even more. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers to Whistler

Whistler has no commercial airport, and guests usually fly into Vancouver International (YVR), 136 km away, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes on Highway 99. YVR is a preclearance airport. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US. Abbotsford International Airport is 188 km from Whistler, 2 hours 25 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.

Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. With skis, boot bags and children, a car that goes straight from the terminal to your lodging saves loading everything onto a coach and off again.

For a departure from Whistler, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: allow at least 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes to YVR. A crash or a slide near Lions Bay can close Highway 99 for hours, often with no detour, so check DriveBC.ca or 511 before you set the time. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Whistler

Down the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Vancouver is 124 km from Whistler, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes. Burnaby is 134 km, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, Richmond 137 km, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes, and Surrey 146 km, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes.

Victoria, 281 km away, is on Vancouver Island, so the journey includes a BC Ferries crossing; on the Tsawwassen–Swartz Bay route the sailing alone takes about 1 hour 35 minutes, and the timetable decides how long the day will be. Tell support which sailing you plan to take.

Inland, Kelowna is 421 km from Whistler, 5 hours 35 minutes to 7 hours 30 minutes, a full day's drive into the Okanagan. For long runs like this, an early start gives the most daylight on mountain roads in winter.

Groups, Ski Equipment & Winter Travel in Whistler

Last season Blackcomb opened on 21 November with limited terrain and Whistler Mountain on 26 November. Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for skis, golf bags or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load.

In summer the mountains turn to biking: Crankworx Whistler, a 10-day festival, ran from 24 July to 2 August 2026. When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If your delegates or riders reach YVR on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group travelling together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats.

For the Christmas and New Year weeks and for Crankworx, reserve early: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Limo Service in Whistler

Trusted by professionals at
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Vancouver International Airport to your hotel or chalet in Whistler on arrival, and back down Highway 99 to YVR at the end of the ski week or the conference. With 136 km of mountain highway between the two, plan the return now. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service is booked by time, not by route. Name the address in Whistler where the day starts, the address where it finishes and how many hours you want, and one chauffeur and one car are reserved for you for that time. Share the plan for the day when you book, and the chauffeur will have it in advance. It suits a day of meetings or visits rather than one ride across town.
One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: YVR to a hotel in Whistler Village, a chalet to the Whistler Conference Centre, Whistler to downtown Vancouver at the end of a trip. For an airport pickup, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My flight into YVR is late: is the waiting time charged?

No. Complimentary waiting time is included with every airport pickup, and it is counted from the actual landing time, not from the scheduled one, because the chauffeur follows your flight. That time is there for customs, baggage claim and the walk to the meeting point, so there is no need to hurry.

Can I change or cancel a booking in Whistler?

Yes. A confirmed booking can be changed or cancelled under the Bookinglane Terms of Service; the conditions depend on the vehicle type and on how far ahead you make the change, so read them before you book. A flight delay needs no change at all, since the pickup follows the actual landing; a new flight number or a corrected address can be updated in the booking.

I have more luggage than usual: which vehicle do I need in Whistler?

Enter the number of bags when you book, and list anything bulky in the notes: ski bags, golf bags, a bike box or a hockey bag. A Premium Sedan suits one or two passengers with standard cases; for more bags, choose a Premium SUV, and for a family's full set or a team's equipment, a Sprinter van, which carries up to 12 passengers with their luggage. The vehicle is matched to the load, and vehicle availability varies by market.

When does Whistler Blackcomb open for skiing?

Each opening depends on snow conditions. Last season Blackcomb opened on 21 November and Whistler Mountain on 26 November. For skis and boot bags, give the number of bags in the booking and tell support, so the vehicle is matched to the load.

What do you need to know about Whistler in 2026–2027?

Crankworx Whistler ran from 24 July to 2 August 2026, its 21st edition, and the 2027 dates have not been announced yet.
