Getting Around London
London does not have one business centre but several. The City, the historic financial district known as the Square Mile, is a local authority of its own. Canary Wharf, the second financial district, stands on the Isle of Dogs further east. The West End and Mayfair hold the main hotels, theatres and shops, and King's Cross has grown into an office quarter around its two stations. A day of meetings can easily touch three of them.
Many trips start or end at a railway terminus. St Pancras International is the London terminus for Eurostar trains to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, and other intercity lines end at Paddington, Euston, King's Cross or Liverpool Street. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
From 26 October 2026 Oxford Street is closed to traffic between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street, first as a trial that is reviewed through spring 2027. If your hotel or appointment is on or near it, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. For a day split between the City, Canary Wharf and the West End, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in London
Six airports carry the London name, and the drive to each is different. London City Airport, in the Royal Docks, is the closest: 9 miles from the centre, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes, as the route crosses the East End. Heathrow is 17 miles west, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes; it handled 84.5 million passengers in 2025 across Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. Gatwick lies 31 miles south, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. Luton Airport is 34 miles north, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and Stansted Airport 37 miles north-east, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from London, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the figures above are for an ordinary day, and the morning and evening rush hours stretch them. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from London
Some of England's best-known day trips start within two hours of central London. Windsor, with its castle, is 23 miles west, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, home of The Making of Harry Potter, lies north-west of the city at Leavesden, 21 miles and 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes away. Oxford is 60 miles away, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, and Cambridge 59 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes. Brighton, on the south coast, is 53 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 25 minutes.
Travelling by car from the hotel, you need no change of train at a busy station, and the luggage stays in one car. Windsor Castle is a working royal residence and can close at short notice, so check its opening days before you fix the date.
A university visit in Oxford in the morning and a meeting back in town in the evening fit one booking by the hour, with the same car for the whole day. For a one-way trip, for example to a hotel in the Cotswolds, the car takes you there and the return is booked as a separate journey.

Groups & Congress Travel in London
ExCeL London, at Royal Victoria Dock, is the capital's largest exhibition centre, 7 miles east of the centre and 40–55 minutes by car; London City Airport is its neighbour in the Royal Docks. Its calendar sets the busy weeks. The London Book Fair runs from 16 to 18 March 2027, and DSEI, the defence and security exhibition, from 7 to 10 September 2027. An exhibitor's team lands over several days, often with sample cases and stand material.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the team lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group moving together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Plan early for the big dates of 2027: the TCS London Marathon, held over two days on 24 and 25 April, and the Wimbledon Championships from 28 June to 11 July. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around those weeks. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
