Getting Around Ascot
Ascot is a town in Berkshire, mostly within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, on the southern edge of Windsor Great Park. Its name is known worldwide because of one address: Ascot Racecourse, which sits right in the town and stages the five days of Royal Ascot every June.
Golf is the other draw. The Wentworth Club at Virginia Water, home of the West Course, is about 4 miles from Ascot, 20–30 minutes by car. Between the racecourse, the golf clubs and the country hotels in the surrounding woodland, many trips here are to addresses outside any town centre.
Ascot station is on the Waterloo–Reading line, where the branch towards Aldershot and Guildford leaves the main line. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a race day, or a house on a private estate road, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
A race day, or a day split between the course, lunch at a hotel and a round of golf, can be booked by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers to Ascot
Heathrow is the nearest airport to Ascot: 16 miles north-east, 40–55 minutes by car. Its four terminals, 2, 3, 4 and 5, handled 84.5 million passengers in 2025. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Southampton Airport is 53 miles south-west, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, with easyJet flights to Belfast and Glasgow. Gatwick is 48 miles away, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, and Luton Airport 44 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Ascot, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: if you fly out on a race day, you share the roads with the crowd leaving the course, so give the evening flight a generous margin. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Ascot
Ascot makes a good base for the Thames valley. Windsor is 7 miles north, 20–30 minutes, across the Great Park. Reading is 15 miles west, 40–55 minutes. Henley-on-Thames, home of the Royal Regatta, is 18 miles, 40–55 minutes.
For a full day, Winchester, where the medieval Round Table hangs in the Great Hall, is 43 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its Roman Baths and Georgian terraces, is 85 miles, 2 hours to 2 hours 35 minutes.
When the day ends where it began, an hourly booking holds the same car and driver throughout. A one-way journey suits a move to another hotel or an onward trip, and the way back is a separate booking.

Groups, Events & Racing in Ascot
Royal Ascot runs from Tuesday 15 to Saturday 19 June 2027, and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes follows in July; in 2026 it was run on 25 July. Hospitality parties, owners' guests and groups of friends arrive for those days from Heathrow, from London hotels and from homes across the region.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests fly in from abroad on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a party that goes to the course together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Royal Ascot week is the busiest of the year in the town. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for it. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
