Getting Around Balham
Balham lies mostly in the London Borough of Wandsworth, with a few streets in Lambeth. Its main street, Balham High Road, and Balham Hill follow the line of Stane Street, the Roman road to Chichester that is now the A24. The district sits between four south London commons, with Tooting Bec Common on its eastern side.
Du Cane Court, a 1930s Art Deco block with 676 flats, was once the largest private block of flats in Europe. For an address in a large block or on a side road off the High Road, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
Balham station is an interchange between the Northern line and National Rail, in fare zone 3, with links to the City and the West End. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
When a day holds a meeting in the City, lunch in Clapham and a viewing in Wandsworth, book it by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Balham
Heathrow is 18 miles west of Balham, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes by car. London City Airport is 13 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, and Gatwick 26 miles south, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Luton Airport is 42 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, and Stansted Airport 42 miles too, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 25 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
One change to know at Heathrow: Terminal 4 lost its multi-storey car park on 23 June 2026, when it shut for rebuilding, and T4 collections have moved to a priority zone in front of the building or to Park & Ride Zone A. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.
Book with your flight number. Once you land, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Balham, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: leave extra room if you set off in the weekday morning peak. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Balham
Clapham, with its common and Clapham Junction station, is the next district north: 1 mile, 10–15 minutes. Central London is 5 miles, 30–40 minutes. Epsom, home of the Derby, is 10 miles, 40–55 minutes, a short trip down the A24 for a race day.
Windsor and its castle, a working royal residence, are 24 miles away, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Oxford is 63 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, and Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Woodstock, can be added to the same day out.
A college visit in Oxford with a return to Balham the same night works as an hourly booking, with one car for the whole day. If you are moving on, a one-way transfer takes you to the address at the far end, and the return is a separate journey.

Groups & Event Travel in Balham
Balham is close to two of London's summer events. The All England Club in neighbouring Merton hosts the Wimbledon Championships from 28 June to 11 July 2027, and Wimbledon is 3 miles from Balham, 20–30 minutes. Across the river, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs from 18 to 22 May 2027.
For a family or a club party staying in Balham for either event, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load. When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If relatives land on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around Wimbledon fortnight. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
