One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 2 to an office in Reading, Terminal 4 to a hotel in Windsor, a house in Slough to Terminal 5 for a morning flight. For an airport pick-up, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. For a departure, you choose the time.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 5 to your hotel in London when you land, and back to the same terminal when the trip ends, or Terminal 3 to Southampton for a cruise and back to Heathrow when the ship returns. During Royal Ascot week and the summer holidays, cars around the airport are taken well ahead. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Some arrival days do not end at one address. With hourly service from LHR you choose at booking where the day starts, where it ends and how many hours you need, and the same chauffeur and vehicle remain with you for that whole period. Send the day's programme with the booking, so the chauffeur has it before you land. It suits a day built around appointments rather than a single destination.

Chauffeur Service at London Heathrow Airport (LHR)

Heathrow is the UK's busiest airport: it handled a record 84.5 million passengers in 2025. Flights use four terminals, 2, 3, 4 and 5, which are far apart, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Since 23 June 2026 Terminal 4 pick-ups use a separate area outside the terminal, because its multi-storey car park has closed for redevelopment.

Central London is 17 miles east, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. The towns of the Thames Valley are much closer. Uxbridge is 7 miles, 25–35 minutes, and Slough 9 miles, 30–40 minutes; Windsor is 10 miles, 30–40 minutes. Further west, Reading is 29 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, and Oxford 50 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.

For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. For a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Sprinter Van Service at London Heathrow Airport (LHR)

Cruise passengers bound for Southampton are one Heathrow group with needs of their own. The port city, with its cruise terminals, is 67 miles south-west, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, and a party flying in for a sailing brings a week's or a fortnight's luggage. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 passengers with their luggage. List every suitcase in the booking, and the vehicle is matched to the load. If the party arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, and when you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation.

Families head for attractions closer by. About 14 miles from the airport, 40–55 minutes, is the Legoland resort on the edge of Windsor; Windsor Castle itself stands in the town centre, 10 miles away, 30–40 minutes. Some travellers change airports instead: Gatwick is about 44 miles from Heathrow by road, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and a van keeps a group and its bags together for that connection.

Coach Service at London Heathrow Airport (LHR)

School trips, incentive groups and conference delegations can arrive as forty or fifty people with one programme. Coaches come in several sizes with up to 56 seats, and the luggage travels in the hold, so the whole party leaves the airport together and reaches the hotel at the same time.

The racing and tennis summer brings groups of its own. Royal Ascot runs from 15 to 19 June 2027, and Ascot is 16 miles from Heathrow, 40–55 minutes; the Wimbledon Championships follow from 28 June to 11 July. University groups travel further: Cambridge is 71 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, and Guildford 27 miles, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.

Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Royal Ascot week and the start of the summer holidays. A coach also needs a place to stop at a hotel, so send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Which terminal do I need at Heathrow?

Your ticket shows it. As a rule, British Airways flies from Terminal 5, many Star Alliance airlines from Terminal 2, Virgin Atlantic and several long-haul carriers from Terminal 3, and SkyTeam airlines such as Air France and KLM from Terminal 4. Heathrow is reviewing its terminal allocations, so check before you travel and put your terminal and flight number in the booking.

Is Heathrow inside the ULEZ?

Yes. Heathrow is in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and the Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every London borough around the clock; the only day off is Christmas Day. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

How do I get from Heathrow to Gatwick?

By road the two airports are about 44 miles apart, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes by car. A transfer between them is booked like any other journey: give the arrival flight at Heathrow and the Gatwick terminal, North or South, for your departure, and leave a generous margin for the connection.

Our group arrives on different flights — can that be arranged?

Yes. Each flight gets its own transfer, so a group landing at Terminals 2 and 5 an hour apart needs two bookings. Before you book a van, tell support how many cases, boxes or sports bags travel with the party, not only the number of passengers. For Royal Ascot week and school holidays, book early.

Does Heathrow charge for dropping off at the terminal?

Yes. Heathrow's Terminal Drop-Off Charge applies to every vehicle that uses the forecourt drop-off zones, at all hours, and it is paid online, by phone or by AutoPay, not at the kerb. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

What do passengers need to know about London Heathrow Airport (LHR) in 2026 and 2027?

The Terminals 2 and 3 railway station has been closed since 25 June 2026, so rail passengers change at Terminal 4 or 5, and the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park closed on 23 June 2026. Heathrow's expansion plans for a third runway are still at the planning stage, with a public consultation from 27 October to 22 December 2026.
