Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Capel

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 5 to a farmhouse outside Capel, Terminal 4 to a guest house in Ockley, or a home in Beare Green to Terminal 2 for a night departure. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 3 to a cottage near Capel on arrival, and from the village to your Heathrow terminal at the end of the stay. If your walking week on Leith Hill has set dates, both journeys can be booked at once. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Capel: Route and Drive Time

The drive from Heathrow to Capel is 36 miles, normally 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. The village sits in the Mole Valley district, close to the county's border with West Sussex; this is the Surrey Capel, not the village of the same name in Kent.

The usual route takes the M25 as far as Leatherhead, Junction 9, then heads south on the A24 through Dorking. Capel lies beside the A24, beyond the Beare Green roundabout where the A29 begins.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give your terminal and the full address and, for a farm or a cottage on the lanes, its name.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow works from Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5; give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.

The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Terminal 4 has worked differently since 23 June 2026. Its multi-storey car park closed for redevelopment, and collections there have moved to the Priority Pick-Up Area or to Park & Ride. If your ticket shows Terminal 4, enter it, and the confirmation reflects the change.

Arriving at Your Address in Capel

Capel has no railway station; the nearest are Ockley, which serves the village, and Holmwood, in Beare Green a mile or so north. Around Capel, lanes lead to Ockley, Coldharbour and the slopes of Leith Hill, whose summit is the second highest in south-east England.

For an address on a country lane, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

If you are staying in Ockley or Coldharbour for walks on Leith Hill, give that address instead; the transfer then ends there rather than in Capel itself.

From Capel Back to London Heathrow Airport

Budget the drive itself, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes on an ordinary day, rather than a time on the clock: the A24 through Dorking and the M25 from Leatherhead can both slow down at peak hours. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Your ticket gives the departure terminal. Enter it in the booking, as Heathrow's terminals are spread out and each has its own approach.

If you fly out early in the morning, set the pick-up with the full drive in mind; from the southern edge of the county, the motorway is still some distance away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

What journey time should I expect from Heathrow to Capel?

Capel is 36 miles by road, normally 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, via the M25 and the A24. Gatwick is much closer to the village, so check which airport your flight uses.

My flight lands at Heathrow late in the evening. Is that a problem for a ride to a village?

No. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, whatever the hour. Give the full address and house name, so the car finds the house after dark.

Has the Terminal 4 pick-up at Heathrow changed?

Yes. Terminal 4's multi-storey car park shut on 23 June 2026, and since then the terminal has had its own pick-up area. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Is Capel in Surrey or Kent?

There are two villages called Capel. The Heathrow route goes to Capel in Surrey, in Mole Valley on the A24 between Dorking and Horsham; the other Capel is in Kent. Check the postcode before you book.

We are travelling with a baby and a toddler. What should we add to the booking?

Child seats are requested in the booking form: choose a booster or an infant and child safety seat and the number you need. List the cases and the pushchair as well, as the vehicle is matched to the load.

What do you need to know about Capel in 2026–2027?

From 1 April 2027 the village's council services pass from Mole Valley and Surrey County Council to East Surrey Council. Visitors who do not need a visa for the UK, other than British and Irish citizens, must hold an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel.
