Getting Around Notting Hill
Notting Hill is a district in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in west London. It is known for Portobello Road Market, with its antiques and street stalls, and for the Notting Hill Carnival, held over the August bank holiday weekend with large road closures across the area.
Notting Hill lies outside the London Congestion Charge zone: the Western Extension that once covered Kensington and Notting Hill was removed in January 2011. Notting Hill Gate station is on the Central, Circle and District lines. The main-line terminus at Paddington is 2 miles away, 15–20 minutes; it is the start of the airport express and of Great Western trains to the west. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
If your address is on Portobello Road itself or in a narrow mews behind it, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. For a day that mixes shopping in Mayfair, 3 miles from Notting Hill, 20–30 minutes, with meetings elsewhere in town, book by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Notting Hill
On the map London City Airport looks nearest, 13 miles east, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, because the drive crosses the whole centre. In 2025 it handled 3.74 million passengers from its site in the Royal Docks. Heathrow is 15 miles west, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes, so it is the quicker airport to reach. Luton Airport is 33 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Gatwick is 40 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes; Stansted Airport is 44 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Notting Hill, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: on a Saturday the streets around the market fill up, so set an earlier start. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Notting Hill
Windsor, the royal town on the Thames, is 21 miles west, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, close enough for a morning at the castle and lunch by the river.
Cambridge, with King's College Chapel and punting on the Cam, is 59 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes. Brighton, with its pier and the Royal Pavilion, is 63 miles south, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 25 minutes.
Leaving from your own front door, there is no change of trains and no carrying of cases between platforms. Book by the hour if you are back in Notting Hill the same night; for a single drive to a hotel on the coast, the return journey is reserved on its own.

Groups & Event Travel in Notting Hill
The 2027 Notting Hill Carnival takes place on Sunday 29 and Monday 30 August. Road closures cover much of the district on both days, so a pick-up has to be planned outside the closed streets. For a party of friends staying in Notting Hill for the weekend, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests come in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, even when one lands at Heathrow and another at City Airport.
In winter, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is about 3 miles away, 25–35 minutes by car, open from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Carnival weekend and the Christmas season. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
