Getting Around Highgate
Highgate is a hilltop area of north London at the north-eastern corner of Hampstead Heath. It is divided between three boroughs: Haringey to the north and east, Camden to the south and west, and Islington to the south-east. The old village sits at the top of Highgate Hill, 136 metres above sea level, around Pond Square, a registered village green, and Highgate School, founded in 1565.
Three Northern line stations serve the area: Highgate, Archway, in zones 2 and 3, and East Finchley, in zone 3. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. If your address is on one of the narrow lanes around the village, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
Highgate Cemetery and Kenwood House are each about 1 mile from the village, 10–15 minutes by car, and Highgate Wood and Waterlow Park are close by. For a day spent between the Heath, the cemetery and lunch in the village, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Highgate
City Airport is the nearest: 12 miles east, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes by car, because the route crosses inner north and east London. It served 3.74 million passengers in 2025. Heathrow is 21 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, and Luton Airport 29 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Gatwick is 36 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, and Stansted Airport 38 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Highgate, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: City Airport is the shortest distance but, as the figures show, not much faster than Luton Airport. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Highgate
Golders Green is 3 miles, 15–20 minutes, across the top of the Heath. Islington, with the Business Design Centre on Upper Street and the Emirates Stadium, is 4 miles, 25–35 minutes. Central London is 5 miles, 30–40 minutes.
In the south-west, the Tudor rooms of Hampton Court Palace are 21 miles away, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Cambridge is 56 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, close enough for a day among the colleges.
A return trip on one day suits an hourly booking with the same car throughout. If you stay overnight, reserve a one-way transfer out and another one back.

Groups & Event Travel in Highgate
Highgate Cemetery is a Victorian cemetery known for its graves, among them those of Karl Marx, George Eliot, Michael Faraday, Douglas Adams and George Michael, and it draws visitors and tour groups. Alexandra Palace, about 2 miles away, 15–20 minutes by car, is the venue of the PDC world darts championship, 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. In 2027 Haringey, which takes in the northern part of Highgate, is London Borough of Culture.
For a society visiting the cemetery or a party going on to the darts, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load. When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If members arrive from abroad on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around the darts fortnight and over Christmas. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
