Getting Around Hatfield
Hatfield is a town in the borough of Welwyn Hatfield, Hertfordshire, on the A1(M) between Junctions 3 and 4. It is home to the University of Hertfordshire.
Hatfield House, the Jacobean house of the Cecil family, stands opposite the railway station; its gardens and house open in season on set days each week. Hatfield station has trains to London King's Cross. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a university building, a hall of residence or an office on the edge of town, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
A day of open-day visits, meetings on campus and a call at Hatfield House can be booked by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Hatfield
Four airports serve Hatfield. Luton Airport is 20 miles, 40–55 minutes by car. Stansted Airport is 31 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, and Heathrow 32 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. London City Airport, out in the Royal Docks, lies 38 miles away, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; it handled 3.74 million passengers in 2025. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Hatfield, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: Heathrow and Stansted are almost the same distance away but lie in opposite directions, so set the time for the airport your flight actually uses. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Hatfield
St Albans is 6 miles west, 25–35 minutes, and Hertford, the county town, 8 miles east, 20–30 minutes. Central London is 22 miles down the A1(M), 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.
Cambridge is 40 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. For a ferry or the naval heritage on the south coast, Portsmouth is 96 miles, 2 hours to 2 hours 35 minutes.
For a day trip and the drive home, an hourly booking keeps the same car and chauffeur with you. A one-way transfer drops you at the other address; book the return separately when you need it.

Groups & Event Travel in Hatfield
The University of Hertfordshire welcomes students, visiting lecturers and families, and Hatfield House holds the Living Crafts festival each May. If an international student group or a team of visiting academics lands at Luton or Stansted at the start of term, their transfers can be planned together.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If students arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group that travels together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, suitcases for a whole term included.
The start of term and graduation weeks need early planning. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
