Getting Around Hampton
Hampton is a Thames-side suburb at the western end of Richmond upon Thames borough, with Bushy Park on its eastern side and Hampton Hill to the north. The old manor of Hampton included Hampton Court Palace, and the riverside still carries the past: David Garrick built his Temple to Shakespeare beside his villa in 1755, and it opens on Sunday afternoons in summer. The Hampton Ferry has crossed to Hurst Park, on the Molesey bank, since at least 1514.
Along the A308 Upper Sunbury Road, the Hampton water treatment works, built in the 1850s and 1860s, can treat about 30% of London's fresh water. Hampton Pool, an open-air pool, dates from 1922, and the district is home to Hampton School and Lady Eleanor Holles School.
Hampton station is on the Shepperton branch, opened in 1864, with trains to London Waterloo. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a riverside house or a school gate at the start of term, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
A day of school visits, a lunch by the river and a tour of the palace works best by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Hampton
Heathrow is 9 miles from Hampton, 40–55 minutes. Gatwick is 32 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Luton Airport 44 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. London City Airport is 23 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, as the route runs right across the capital. To the south-west, Southampton Airport is 64 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes; it has a single small terminal, and its Parkway rail station stands beside it. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. If you are arriving by air, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.
For a departure from Hampton, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: if your flight falls on a race day at Kempton Park or Epsom, leave more room in the plan. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Hampton
Hampton Court Palace is 2 miles, 10–15 minutes, along the edge of Bushy Park. Sunbury-on-Thames, home of Kempton Park racecourse, is 3 miles, 15–20 minutes.
Epsom is 10 miles, 35–50 minutes, for Epsom Downs Racecourse, where the Derby is run. Windsor is 14 miles, 40–55 minutes, and Ascot 21 miles, 40–55 minutes, so a castle visit and a race meeting can share one day.
Booked by the hour, a race day at Ascot with a late drive back stays in one booking with the same car. For a one-way run, such as a family move to a boarding school or a flight from Southampton, the return is booked as a journey of its own.

Groups, Events & Racing in Hampton
Hampton sits between three racecourses: Kempton Park next door in Sunbury, Epsom Downs and Ascot. The 2027 Derby Festival at Epsom runs on 4 June (Oaks Day) and 5 June (Derby Day), and Royal Ascot from 15 to 19 June 2027. For a racing party of ten in morning dress, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests for a race day fly in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Derby weekend and Royal Ascot week. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
