Getting Around Croydon
Croydon is the main town of the London Borough of Croydon, on the southern edge of Greater London; it was a Surrey town until it joined Greater London in 1965. The town centre gathers around North End, with the Whitgift Centre and Centrale shopping centres, Croydon Minster to the west and Fairfield Halls, the concert and theatre venue, to the east. Boxpark Croydon, a food and drink hall built from shipping containers, stands beside East Croydon station.
East Croydon, in fare zone 5, is one of the main stations on the Brighton Main Line, with direct trains to Gatwick Airport, Brighton, London Bridge and London Victoria, and Thameslink services through central London. West Croydon has London Overground trains, and Tramlink connects the town centre with Wimbledon, Beckenham and New Addington. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Along Purley Way, the A23, the terminal building of the old Croydon Airport still stands; it was London's main airport between the wars and closed in 1959. For an office on Wellesley Road or a flat in one of the new towers, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. A day of meetings in Croydon, Sutton and Wimbledon can be reserved by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Croydon
Gatwick is the quickest airport to reach from Croydon: 22 miles south, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes on the A23 and M23. It handled 42.8 million passengers in 2025, split between the North and South Terminals, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. London City Airport is 16 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes. Heathrow is 24 miles west, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. Luton Airport is 47 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes, and Southend Airport 49 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. For a departure from Croydon, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the run to Heathrow goes across south-west London or round the M25, and both can slow at peak times. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Croydon
Beckenham, at the eastern end of the tram line, is 5 miles, 20–30 minutes. For a Tudor afternoon, Hampton Court Palace is 16 miles, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.
To the south, Tunbridge Wells, the Kent spa town with the Pantiles, is 32 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Brighton, the seaside city, is 44 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours. Motor-racing fans can reach Silverstone, the Grand Prix circuit, 104 miles away, in 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours.
For a race day at Silverstone with the return to Croydon at night, reserve by the hour and one chauffeur stays with you from start to finish. A one-way transfer to Brighton or Tunbridge Wells ends at your address there, and the journey home is a separate reservation.

Groups & Event Travel in Croydon
Selhurst Park, the home ground of Crystal Palace FC, is in South Norwood, within the borough, and match days bring supporters and visiting parties to the north of Croydon. Fairfield Halls draws audiences for concerts, comedy and conferences. For a supporters' club, a choir or a conference team travelling together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the party arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, whether into Gatwick or Heathrow.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on Palace home match days and around Christmas. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
