Getting Around Belvedere
Belvedere lies in Bexley borough, on the south bank of the Thames, between Abbey Wood and Erith. It takes its name from Belvedere House, an eighteenth-century mansion on the hill. Upper Belvedere, on the higher ground, is mainly residential, while Lower Belvedere runs down to the marshes, where industrial estates and a large energy-from-waste plant line the river.
West of the district, on the marshes, Crossness Pumping Station is a Victorian sewage engine house designed by Joseph Bazalgette, with ornate cast ironwork inside. Lesnes Abbey, the ruins of a twelfth-century abbey set in woodland, is at the Abbey Wood end.
Belvedere station has Southeastern trains on the North Kent line to London Bridge. Abbey Wood, the eastern end of the Elizabeth line, is about 1 mile away, 10–15 minutes by car. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a site gate on an industrial estate, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. If a visiting engineer has inspections at two riverside sites and a meeting in Canary Wharf, book by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Belvedere
London City Airport is 7 miles from Belvedere, 40–55 minutes, on the opposite bank. Heathrow is 32 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes; it handled 84.5 million passengers in 2025 across Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. Southend Airport is 33 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Gatwick is 44 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, and Stansted Airport also 44 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. However the flight runs, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Belvedere, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: Southend and Stansted lie north of the Thames, so the route goes over the river at Dartford or through east London, and queues at either crossing lengthen the trip. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Belvedere
Crayford, by the River Cray, is 4 miles, 15–20 minutes, and Bexleyheath, the borough's main shopping centre, 5 miles, 20–30 minutes.
Whitstable, with its harbour and beach huts, is 50 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Eastbourne, next to Beachy Head, is 67 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. Winchester, where the Great Hall displays the Round Table, is 94 miles, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes.
A seaside day in Whitstable, with the drive home at sunset, works well as an hourly booking, with one chauffeur there and back. For a few nights in Winchester, a one-way trip drops you at the hotel, and you reserve the way home separately.

Groups & Event Travel in Belvedere
Crossness Pumping Station opens its engine house to visitors on set days, and engineering societies and school groups come to see the Victorian beam engines. For a club outing of fifteen, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. Contractor crews heading to the riverside plants can travel the same way; list their tool cases so the vehicle is matched to the load.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If engineers fly in from abroad on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early during planned shutdowns and maintenance periods at the riverside works. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
