Getting Around Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden is the capital of Hesse, a spa town on the north bank of the Rhine with the Taunus hills behind it. For visitors, the city turns around two venues: the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC), five minutes' walk from the Hauptbahnhof, and the Kurhaus with its casino and halls, which also hosts conferences and gala evenings.

The Hauptbahnhof is a terminus with ICE trains towards Cologne via Mainz and towards Frankfurt, Erfurt, Leipzig and Dresden. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.

Wiesbaden has had a low-emission zone (Umweltzone) since 1 February 2013. It was set up jointly with Mainz, whose part was lifted on 1 October 2025; the Wiesbaden zone is still in force. For a day between a ministry, the RMCC and a meeting across the river in Mainz, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Wiesbaden

Frankfurt Airport is 29 km east of Wiesbaden along the A66 and the A3, 35–45 minutes by car. Its two terminals in use are Terminal 1 and the new Terminal 3; give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

From Wiesbaden, Frankfurt-Hahn in the Hunsrück is closer than from Frankfurt: 90 km, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes. Its routes are mainly low-cost and leisure flights. Saarbrücken Airport is 152 km away, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.

Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Wiesbaden, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 35–45 minutes to Frankfurt Airport with normal traffic on the A66, more at the start and end of the working day. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Wiesbaden

Mainz, the capital of Rhineland-Palatinate, is only 12 km away across the Rhine, 25–35 minutes. Rüdesheim and the Rheingau wine villages start 29 km to the west, 35–45 minutes. Heidelberg is 100 km south, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, with a congress centre in the Bahnstadt for up to 3,800 people, and Cologne is 165 km north, 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes, where the furniture fair imm cologne runs from 19 to 22 January 2027. Stuttgart is 214 km, 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours 10 minutes, with the CMT holiday show from 16 to 24 January 2027, and Baden-Baden 188 km, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes.

Luxembourg, with its banks and European institutions, is 202 km west, 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours. The drive is booked like any other: the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.

Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, and that includes the border with Luxembourg, so leave time for the way back. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Wiesbaden

The RMCC can take events of up to 12,500 people, and with the Kurhaus a few minutes away, a medical congress or a company convention can fill hotels across the city. Two dates from the city calendar add to the demand: the Rheingauer Weinwoche in mid-August and the Sternschnuppenmarkt, Wiesbaden's Christmas market, from late November to 23 December.

When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a delegation moving between hotel, RMCC and Kurhaus, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.

Plan the transport together with the venue booking. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on big congress dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Chauffeur Service in Wiesbaden

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Frankfurt Airport to your hotel near the Kurhaus or the RMCC, and the hotel back to the airport when the event closes. That counts most when a large congress coincides with the Weinwoche in August or the Christmas market in December. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service is booked by time, not by route. Name the address in Wiesbaden where the day starts, the address where it finishes and how many hours you want, and one chauffeur and one car are reserved for you for that time. Share the plan for the day when you book, and the chauffeur will have it in advance. It suits a day of meetings or visits rather than one ride across town.
One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: Frankfurt Airport to a hotel on Wilhelmstraße, the Hauptbahnhof to the RMCC, Wiesbaden to a winery in Rüdesheim or a bank in Luxembourg. For an airport pickup, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the A66 across the Salzbachtal fully open again?

Yes. The old Salzbachtalbrücke in Wiesbaden was demolished in November 2021. The southern half of the new bridge has carried traffic since December 2023, and the northern half opened on 1 August 2025. Since then the A66, the road towards Frankfurt Airport, has two lanes in each direction across the valley again.

Where does a car set you down at the RMCC?

The RheinMain CongressCenter is at Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 1. Its public garage has 800 spaces, is open around the clock and is entered from Friedrich-Ebert-Allee, but its height limit of 2.10 m is too low for a Sprinter van or a coach, so groups are set down above ground. A taxi rank is opposite, in Viktoria-Luise-Straße. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Does the Nerobergbahn in Wiesbaden run all year?

No, it is a seasonal service, so check the operator's timetable for the 2027 dates; in its 2026 season the cars ran every 15 minutes from 9:00 to 19:00. Opened in 1888, the Nerobergbahn is a water-ballast funicular with two cars for 50 passengers each, and the ride takes about 3.5 minutes. The valley station is at Wilhelminenstraße 51; the satnav alternative is Nerotal 66.

What do you need to know about Wiesbaden in 2026–2027?

The Sternschnuppenmarkt runs from 24 November to 23 December 2026, and the Rheingauer Weinwoche returns in August 2027. Germany's notified land border checks, including the one with Luxembourg, run until 15 March 2027. Frankfurt Airport flights use Terminal 1 or Terminal 3.
