Getting Around Dresden
Dresden is a chip-making city. Infineon opened its Smart Power Fab here in July 2026, a plant for power semiconductors and the largest single investment in the company's history, and ESMC, the joint venture of TSMC with Bosch, Infineon and NXP, is building a 300 mm wafer fab in the city. A site visit can therefore mean a day between a plant, a hotel and the airport.
The city has two long-distance stations, and ICE, EuroCity and Intercity trains stop at both. The Hauptbahnhof is closer to the old town and the hotels around it, while Dresden-Neustadt saves a trip across the Elbe if you stay on the north bank. EuroCity trains from Berlin to Prague call at both. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a day that combines a plant, a research institute and a hotel in the Altstadt, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Dresden
Dresden Airport is 13 km from the centre, 25–35 minutes by car. It lies in the district of Klotzsche; its only terminal dates from 2001, and the S-Bahn runs into the building: line S2 takes about 14 minutes to Dresden-Neustadt and about 21 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof. Leipzig/Halle Airport is 124 km west, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. Prague's Václav Havel Airport lies 160 km south, across the Czech border, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes away. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Dresden, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 25–35 minutes to Dresden Airport, but 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes to Prague Airport. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Dresden
Within Saxony, Chemnitz is 79 km west, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Leipzig 114 km on the A4 and A14, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Berlin is 192 km north on the A13, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes. Weimar, with its Bauhaus sites and the UNESCO-listed Classical Weimar, is 200 km west on the A4, 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours.
Two capitals of neighbouring countries are within reach. Prague is 146 km south on the A17 and the Czech D8, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, so a meeting in Prague and the return fit into one day. Wrocław in Poland is 271 km east on the A4, 2 hours 55 minutes to 3 hours 55 minutes. Either trip is booked as one journey, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, including the borders with the Czech Republic and Poland. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Dresden
The International Congress Center Dresden on the Elbe, the Messe Dresden and the event venues in the Ostragehege can together take congresses of up to 6,000 delegates. Before Christmas the Striezelmarkt, Dresden's Christmas market, runs on the Altmarkt with more than 200 stalls; in 2026 it opens on 25 November and closes on 24 December. A congress in Advent therefore shares the city with the market crowds.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the delegation arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, from Dresden, Leipzig/Halle or Prague. For a group travelling together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Book early for late November and December. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in the Striezelmarkt weeks. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
