Dresden Airport to Dresden: Route and Drive Time
The airport is in Klotzsche, in the north of Dresden, and the drive to the centre is 13 km, usually 25–35 minutes by car.
As the airport is on the northern side, the river shapes the end of the trip. An address in the Neustadt, on the north bank of the Elbe, is reached without crossing a bridge, while the Altmarkt and the hotels of the old town lie on the far side of the river. Downstream, the International Congress Center and the Ostragehege exhibition halls sit about 14 km from the terminal, 30–40 minutes.
Both Dresden-Neustadt and the Hauptbahnhof are served by ICE, EC and IC trains, with links to Prague and Wrocław.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. With the flight number and the full hotel address in the booking, the car is routed to the correct bank of the river.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Dresden Airport
Dresden has one passenger terminal, opened in 2001, so there is no terminal to choose and every flight arrives in the same building. Flights connect the city with hubs in Germany and Switzerland and with sun destinations in Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Italy and Spain.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The terminal also has its own S-Bahn station: the S2 needs about 14 minutes to Dresden-Neustadt and about 21 to the Hauptbahnhof. A car is the alternative when the hotel is some way from either station, when the bags are heavy or when the group has children with it.

Arriving at Your Address in Dresden
On the south bank, the Altmarkt is home to the Striezelmarkt, Dresden's Christmas market, with more than 200 stalls. In Advent the old town is at its fullest, so an address near the Altmarkt needs precise details. The International Congress Center, the Messe and the other venues in the Ostragehege by the Elbe can together host congresses of up to 6,000 delegates; name the hall or the congress entrance. Chip making brings a third kind of visitor. Infineon's Smart Power Fab, a project of 5 billion euros, started up in July 2026, and ESMC is building a wafer fab in the city; for a plant visit, the gate named in your invitation is the address to book. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Dresden Back to Dresden Airport
The drive out takes 25–35 minutes from the centre, a little more when the Elbe bridges are busy in the rush hour. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Every departure leaves from the single terminal, so the airport side needs no instructions. From a hotel in the Neustadt, the car stays on the north bank of the river all the way.
In Advent the Striezelmarkt draws crowds into the old town, especially in the evenings, so a late-afternoon departure from the Altstadt deserves extra time. Part of the Carolabrücke collapsed in September 2024, and the city council chose the design of its replacement in September 2026; until then the other Elbe bridges carry the traffic. A delegate leaving straight from the final session can be collected at the International Congress Center rather than at the hotel.
