Getting Around Magdeburg
Magdeburg is the capital of Saxony-Anhalt and, with about 244,000 residents, its largest city. The state parliament and the ministries are here, so many business visits are official ones: a delegation to the Landtag, a meeting at a ministry, an appointment at the Otto von Guericke University.
The city lies on the Elbe, and the cathedral, the Magdeburger Dom, stands above the river in the old town. Nearby is the Green Citadel, completed in 2005 as the last building designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
The Hauptbahnhof is in the old-town district, on the site of the former fortress. InterCity trains run every two hours towards Leipzig, Halle, Braunschweig and Hanover, and single ICE services run to Berlin and Dresden. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a day that holds a session at the Landtag, a ministry appointment and a meeting on the university campus, book by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Magdeburg
Magdeburg has three airports within reach, each in a different direction. Leipzig/Halle is 114 km south, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Hannover Airport is 152 km west, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, and Berlin Brandenburg 160 km east, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Because the three are so far apart, a guest may land in Berlin and fly out of Hanover. Each direction is then booked as its own transfer, with its own airport and confirmation.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Magdeburg, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes to Berlin Brandenburg, and more when the A2 and the Berlin ring are busy. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Magdeburg
Wolfsburg is 89 km west, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, close enough for a meeting at Volkswagen and back on the same day; the main plant, founded in 1938, covers 6.5 km². Leipzig is 129 km south, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, and its exhibition centre has five halls with 111,300 m² under cover; the Leipzig Book Fair is on from 18 to 21 March 2027. Hanover is 147 km, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, and Hannover Messe runs there from 5 to 8 April 2027.
Berlin is 154 km east, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, which suits a delegation moving between the state capital and the federal one. Dresden is 232 km, 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 25 minutes, where the ICC holds up to 6,000 delegates.
North of the city, 17 km away and 30–40 minutes by car, the Mittelland Canal crosses the Elbe on a 918 m trough bridge, the longest canal bridge in Europe, opened in 2003. For a visit there, an hourly booking keeps the same car with you for the outing and the drive back.

Groups & Event Travel in Magdeburg
As the seat of the state government, Magdeburg receives official groups through the year: parliamentary visitors, ministry delegations, partners from other regions. Business groups also combine Magdeburg with Wolfsburg or Leipzig in one trip, and school and tour groups come for the cathedral and the waterway bridge.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a delegation travels on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, from Berlin, Leipzig/Halle or Hanover. For a group going from the Landtag to a ministry together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
For large delegations, reserve once the visit programme is final. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early when several groups visit at once. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
