Getting Around Wood Green
Wood Green is the main town centre of the London Borough of Haringey. Its High Road holds The Mall shopping centre and a long run of shops, and Haringey Council's Civic Centre stands on the same road. On the hill to the west rises Alexandra Palace, opened in 1873 and known as the place where the BBC began its regular television service in 1936; it is about 1 mile from the High Road, 10–15 minutes by car.
Wood Green Underground station is on the Piccadilly line, which runs south to King's Cross St Pancras and the West End and on to Heathrow. Alexandra Palace station, on the Great Northern route to Moorgate, serves the western side. For a concert or an event at the palace, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
A day split between the Civic Centre, a meeting near King's Cross and an evening at the palace can be booked by the hour; one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Wood Green
Heathrow is 23 miles south-west of Wood Green, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes by car, and Luton Airport is 31 miles north, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes as well. Its one terminal served 17.77 million passengers in 2025. City Airport, in the docklands, is 17 miles away, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes, and Stansted Airport 34 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Wood Green, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: Heathrow is reached across north-west London, and on an event night at Alexandra Palace the local roads add minutes before you even reach the North Circular. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Wood Green
The neighbours are close. Palmers Green, along Green Lanes, is 1 mile, 10–15 minutes, and Tottenham, home of the Spurs stadium, is 2 miles, 15–20 minutes. Central London is 7 miles, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes, through Finsbury Park and King's Cross.
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is 18 miles away, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes, close enough for an afternoon slot. Oxford, with its colleges and the Bodleian Library, is 62 miles west, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes.
For the Studio Tour, reserve by the hour and the chauffeur drives you home afterwards in the same vehicle. For a longer stay in Oxford, the one-way journey takes you there and the trip home is a separate booking.

Groups & Event Travel in Wood Green
Alexandra Palace is the area's big venue. It hosts the PDC World Darts Championship from 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, and for the first time the final will be played in the Great Hall, which holds more than 5,200 spectators. In 2027 Haringey is London Borough of Culture, with a programme from May 2027 to March 2028 that uses the palace as one of its venues.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a darts party or a performing company arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a party going to the palace together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, including instrument cases.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early during the darts fortnight and the culture year. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
