Getting Around Woking
Woking is a town and borough in Surrey, about halfway between Guildford and the M25. It grew around its railway station in the 19th century, and the Basingstoke Canal still runs through the town just north of the centre.
The best-known employer is McLaren: the McLaren Technology Centre, the group's headquarters, sits on the town's northern edge, 2 miles out, 10–15 minutes by car. It is not open to the public, so a visit there means a meeting arranged with the company. Woking is also home to the Shah Jahan Mosque, the first purpose-built mosque in Britain, and to a tall steel Martian in the town centre, a nod to H. G. Wells, who wrote The War of the Worlds while living here.
Woking station is a major stop on the South West Main Line, with fast trains to London Waterloo. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a business park gate or a reception building, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
Meetings at McLaren, a lunch in the town and a client in Guildford fit one hourly booking: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Woking
Heathrow is 18 miles north, 40–55 minutes by car; its Terminal 4 multi-storey car park closed on 23 June 2026. Gatwick is 38 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. London City Airport is 39 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes. Luton Airport is 47 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, and Southampton Airport 56 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. For a departure from Woking, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the first miles to the M25 are on local A-roads, so allow for school-run traffic as well as the motorway. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Woking
Ascot is 10 miles west, 30–40 minutes, and Windsor 16 miles, 40–55 minutes. Reading, the Thames Valley business town, is 24 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes.
Oxford, for the colleges and the Bodleian, is 60 miles north, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. Further on, the Cotswolds make a long day out: Bourton-on-the-Water, the village of low bridges over the River Windrush, is 83 miles, 2 hours to 2 hours 35 minutes.
For a trip that long, keep the car by the hour so it is there for the drive home. If you only need to get there, book one way, and arrange the return trip as a second booking.

Groups & Congress Travel in Woking
If an engineering partner or a supplier is sending a delegation to the McLaren Technology Centre, the team may land at Heathrow and need to reach the campus and a hotel together. When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the delegation arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
For the group visit, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load. In the evening, the New Victoria Theatre in the town centre stages touring musicals and shows, which suits a group dinner and a performance.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for big shows at the theatre and the week before Christmas. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
