Getting Around Westminster
The City of Westminster is the London borough where the country is governed. It contains the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, the theatres and hotels of the West End, and the offices of Mayfair and Paddington. A single day here can take in a ministry meeting, a lunch in St James's and an evening show.
Most of the borough lies inside the Congestion Charge zone, including the West End, St James's, Mayfair and Victoria east of Vauxhall Bridge Road; Paddington, west of Edgware Road, is outside it.
On the borough's northern side, Oxford Street is shut to vehicles from Orchard Street east to Great Portland Street from 26 October 2026. For an address on or near it, or close to Parliament, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. For a day of meetings across the borough, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Westminster
Heathrow is 17 miles west of Westminster, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes by car, and London City Airport is 9 miles east, also 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, because the route crosses the City and the East End. Gatwick is 31 miles south, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, and Luton Airport 34 miles north, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Paddington is the London end of the Heathrow Express, but the Terminals 2 and 3 station at Heathrow has been closed since June 2026, which adds a change for passengers flying from those terminals. A car goes straight to the terminal: give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Westminster, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: evening theatre traffic in the West End and weekday rush hours both lengthen it. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Districts of Westminster
Westminster is a borough of distinct districts, and each has its own reason for a car. Mayfair, between Park Lane, Oxford Street, Regent Street and Piccadilly, is known for hotels such as The Dorchester and Claridge's, the shops of Bond Street and a cluster of hedge funds and private equity firms; it is 2 miles from Westminster, 15–20 minutes. Paddington, 3 miles away, 20–30 minutes, combines a main-line station on the Elizabeth line and Great Western routes with the offices of Paddington Basin and St Mary's Hospital.
St James's holds clubs, galleries and offices close to the palace. Further north, St John's Wood is home to Lord's Cricket Ground. Chelsea, just over the border in Kensington and Chelsea, is 1 mile from Westminster, 10–15 minutes.
Two royal sites make easy trips out of the borough. Hampton Court Palace is 13 miles south-west, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, and Windsor 22 miles west, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes.

Groups & Event Travel in Westminster
The QEII Centre, opposite Westminster Abbey, is the borough's main conference venue, and its events bring delegations that move between hotels, the hall and ministry buildings. Lord's draws cricket crowds through the summer, and in winter the Christmas fair in Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland, is open from 19 November 2026 until 3 January 2027.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the delegation lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group moving together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
For a coach, send the hotel's full address with the booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around state events and the Christmas season. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
