Getting Around Teddington
Teddington is a riverside suburb in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, stretching from the Thames to Bushy Park; it became part of Greater London in 1965. Its biggest employers are scientific. The National Physical Laboratory, the UK's national measurement laboratory, began at Bushy House in 1902 and still works on the edge of the park, next to LGC and the National Measurement Office.
On the river, Teddington Lock is the lowest non-tidal lock on the Thames, and a footbridge from 1889 crosses to Ham. The former Teddington Studios site by the lock has been rebuilt as homes since 2016. The shops are on Broad Street and the High Street, part of the A313.
Teddington station is on the Kingston Loop: South Western Railway runs to Waterloo every 15 minutes via Kingston and Wimbledon, and every 30 minutes via Richmond and Putney. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a laboratory gate or a house near the lock, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
For a visiting researcher with meetings at the laboratory and in central London within one day, an hourly booking works: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Teddington
Heathrow is only 10 miles from Teddington, 40–55 minutes by car. Gatwick is 34 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and London City Airport 21 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, because the route crosses the capital from west to east. Luton Airport is 43 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. Stansted Airport is 53 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes; it has one terminal and saw 29.76 million passengers in 2025. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. Once you are in the air, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.
For a departure from Teddington, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: Heathrow is close, but a match day at Twickenham nearby can slow local roads, so check the fixture list. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Teddington
Hampton Court Palace, on the far side of Bushy Park, is 3 miles, 20–30 minutes. Kingston upon Thames, with its market and the Rose Theatre, is 3 miles, 20–30 minutes.
Ascot is 23 miles, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, for the racecourse and Royal Ascot from 15 to 19 June 2027. Henley-on-Thames is 31 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; its Royal Regatta runs from 29 June to 4 July 2027. Stonehenge, on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, is 72 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, which makes a long but easy day by road.
A trip to Stonehenge and back, or to Ascot for the racing, fits one booking by the hour. If you are staying on after the regatta at Henley, book the outward run one-way and the return as a separate journey.

Groups & Event Travel in Teddington
Teddington's scientific cluster by Bushy Park is built around the National Physical Laboratory and LGC. If a project team of eight flies into Heathrow for a week of work at the laboratory, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, including instrument cases.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the team comes in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on international rugby days at Twickenham and in Royal Ascot week. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
