Getting Around Sutton

Sutton is the largest town in the borough that bears its name, on the southern edge of Greater London next to Surrey. Its High Street, mostly closed to traffic, runs down from the station with the St Nicholas shopping centre along it, and the Secombe Theatre is named after the entertainer Sir Harry Secombe, who lived in the town. Sutton United play at Gander Green Lane, west of the centre.

On the southern side of the town, at Belmont, the Royal Marsden Hospital has its Sutton site next to the Institute of Cancer Research, and the land around them is planned as the London Cancer Hub, a research and life-science campus. The A217 runs south from here towards the M25 at Junction 8.

Sutton station, in fare zone 5, has Southern trains to London Victoria and London Bridge, and Thameslink trains through the City. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For the Royal Marsden, name the building or unit as well as the road: send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. A day of treatment or meetings at Belmont with a hotel in town fits a booking by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Sutton

Three airports lie about 20 miles from Sutton. Gatwick, the quickest to reach, is 20 miles south, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Heathrow is 20 miles west, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. London City Airport is 21 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Further out, Southend Airport is 60 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, and Luton Airport 62 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Luton, with one terminal, had 17.77 million passengers last year. The right one depends on your airline and route.

Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. For a departure from Sutton, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the roads through Cheam and Kingston towards Heathrow can be slow in the weekday rush hours. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Sutton

Kingswood, on the Surrey hills beyond Banstead, is 6 miles, 20–30 minutes. Guildford, with its cathedral on Stag Hill, is 25 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes.

Windsor and its castle are 33 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Brighton, known for its Regency Royal Pavilion, is 43 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. Cambridge, 94 miles to the north, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes, makes a long day for a university visit.

An hourly booking covers a day in Cambridge or Windsor with the same chauffeur waiting to bring you home. A one-way trip takes you to your address in Brighton or Guildford, and the return is reserved as a second transfer.

Groups & Event Travel in Sutton

The Royal Marsden and the Institute of Cancer Research bring visiting clinicians and research teams to Belmont. For a delegation moving between a hotel, the hospital and the airport, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.

When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If researchers arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.

Sutton United home matches at Gander Green Lane bring visiting supporters to the town, and the Derby at Epsom, on 4 and 5 June 2027, fills the roads to the south. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Chauffeur Service in Sutton

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Heathrow to a hotel near Sutton station when you arrive for a course of treatment and out to Heathrow again when it ends, or Sutton to Windsor Castle and back the same evening. Around Derby weekend in June, cars in the borough are taken early. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service is booked by time, not by route. Name the address in Sutton where the day starts, the address where it finishes and how many hours you want, and one chauffeur and one car are reserved for you for that time. Share the plan for the day when you book, and the chauffeur will have it in advance. It suits a day of meetings or visits rather than one ride across town.
One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: Gatwick to a flat off Sutton High Street, Sutton station to the Royal Marsden at Belmont, Gander Green Lane to a hotel in Croydon after an evening match. For an airport pick-up, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

What zone is Sutton station?

Sutton station is in fare zone 5. Southern trains run to London Victoria and London Bridge, and Thameslink trains run through the City towards St Pancras. Tell us your train when you book, and the chauffeur meets it.

Where is Sutton United's ground?

Sutton United play at Gander Green Lane, in the west of Sutton, a short drive from the town centre and the station. On match days, put the ground's address in the booking, and the confirmation names the drop-off point.

What do you need to know about Sutton in 2026–2027?

In February 2026 Sutton Council granted planning permission for the London Cancer Hub, a research campus next to the Royal Marsden and the Institute of Cancer Research at Belmont; no construction dates had been published by October 2026. Visitors who do not need a visa for the UK, other than British and Irish citizens, must hold an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel.
