Getting Around Hendon
Hendon is a district in the London Borough of Barnet, inside Greater London since 1965. It lies 7 miles north-west of Charing Cross, where several arterial roads meet: the M1 starts at its edge, the A41 cuts through it, and the A406 North Circular runs along the south, past Brent Cross Shopping Centre, opened in 1976.
Hendon Central, a Northern line station opened in 1923, serves the centre, and Hendon station is on the Thameslink route. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
The old Hendon aerodrome, where flying ended in 1968, now holds the RAF Museum London and the Hendon Police College; the museum is about 1 mile from the centre, 10–15 minutes by car. Middlesex University has its Hendon campus here as well, in the former Hendon Technical Institute. If you are staying in student housing or on a quiet residential road, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
A day that combines a university meeting, the museum and Brent Cross can be booked by the hour; one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Hendon
From Hendon, two airports take about the same time. Heathrow is 18 miles south-west, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes by car; in 2025 it handled 84.5 million passengers across Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. Luton Airport is 26 miles north, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes. City Airport lies 21 miles east, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Stansted Airport is 42 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and Southend Airport 54 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. For a departure from Hendon, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the road south to Heathrow follows the North Circular, and rush-hour queues there can stretch the figures above. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Hendon
Golders Green is 2 miles, 10–15 minutes, on the far side of Brent Cross. Wembley, with the national football stadium, is 5 miles, 20–30 minutes. The Harry Potter studios at Leavesden, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, are 13 miles, 30–40 minutes.
Cambridge and its colleges lie 53 miles away, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. For a day on the south coast, Eastbourne is 103 miles, 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours, below the chalk cliffs of Beachy Head.
For an outing with no overnight stay, an hourly booking lets one chauffeur cover both the outward drive and the return. If you are staying away, a one-way booking covers the outward drive, and the return is booked on its own.

Groups & Event Travel in Hendon
Saracens, the rugby union club, are based at Copthall, about 2 miles from the centre of Hendon, 15–20 minutes by car. For a supporters' club or a touring side with kit bags, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Middlesex University and the RAF Museum also bring visiting parties to Hendon. When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If academic guests arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on Saracens home weekends and at the start of the academic year. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
