Getting Around Hackney
The London Borough of Hackney runs from Shoreditch, on the edge of the City, north to Stoke Newington and east to Hackney Wick and the Olympic Park. Shoreditch is known for its tech and creative firms, Mare Street for the Hackney Empire, a variety theatre opened in 1901, and the east of the borough for Victoria Park and Hackney Marshes. Homerton University Hospital serves the borough.
The Congestion Charge zone begins at Old Street, on Hackney's southern edge; the rest of the borough lies outside it. For an office close to that boundary, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
Hackney has few Tube stations of its own, so its rail links are the Overground: Hackney Central, in Travelcard Zone 2, Hackney Downs, Dalston and Hackney Wick. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a day of studio visits in Shoreditch and meetings in Dalston, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Hackney
London City Airport is 7 miles from Hackney, 30–40 minutes. Heathrow is 22 miles west, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes; it handled 84.5 million passengers in 2025. Stansted Airport is 33 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, Luton Airport 34 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours, and Southend Airport 36 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. On the way in, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Hackney, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: Heathrow is closer on the map than Stansted, yet the drive west through the city can take longer. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Hackney
Islington, with Angel and the Business Design Centre, is 3 miles, 20–30 minutes. Tottenham, home of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is 4 miles, 30–40 minutes.
Further out, Chelmsford is 30 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Cambridge 54 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. For the seaside, Brighton is 72 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 25 minutes.
For a weekend in Brighton, a one-way ride takes you to the hotel, and the return is a separate booking. A college visit in Cambridge with dinner back in Dalston works best by the hour, with one car for the day.

Groups & Event Travel in Hackney
The Hackney Half Marathon starts and finishes at Hackney Marshes; the 2027 race is on Sunday 16 May, with a 09:00 start. If a runner's family is coming in from outside London, check the organiser's road closure notes before setting the pick-up. A theatre party booked for the Hackney Empire can travel together in the same way.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If friends land on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a running club or a theatre party, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
On race day, give a meeting point away from the course. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for the Half Marathon weekend. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
