Getting Around Carshalton
Carshalton is a town in the London Borough of Sutton, built around Carshalton Ponds, which are fed by springs of the River Wandle. Honeywood Museum, the borough's local history museum, stands beside them. Carshalton House, an early 18th-century mansion, is now part of St Philomena's Catholic High School for Girls, and Little Holland House is the Arts and Crafts home that Frank Dickinson built and furnished himself.
On the southern edge, The Oaks Park keeps the name of the house where the 12th Earl of Derby held the parties that gave rise to the Oaks in 1779 and the Derby in 1780, both still run at Epsom. To the north, St Helier Hospital stands near the border with Merton.
Carshalton and Carshalton Beeches stations, both in fare zone 5, have Southern trains into central London. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For the hospital, give the department and entrance with the street: send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. A day with an appointment at St Helier and a visit to relatives in Sutton can be booked by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Carshalton
The fastest airport to reach from Carshalton is Gatwick, 20 miles south, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. It served 42.8 million passengers in 2025 from a North and a South Terminal. London City Airport is also 20 miles away but takes 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Heathrow is 22 miles west, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Southend Airport is 51 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, and Stansted Airport 62 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. For a departure from Carshalton, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: City Airport is no further than Gatwick on the map, yet the drive across south and east London makes it much slower. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
