Getting Around Ludwigshafen
Ludwigshafen am Rhein, in Rhineland-Palatinate, faces Mannheim across the Rhine; the two centres are 4 km apart, 10–15 minutes by car. The city is home to BASF, which was founded here in 1865. Its Ludwigshafen Verbund site covers 10 km² and is the largest connected chemical complex in the world, with about 33,000 employees, roughly a third of the group's global workforce.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
For long-distance trains, the nearest big station is Mannheim Hauptbahnhof across the river, where ICE trains stop, including the ICE and TGV services between Frankfurt and Paris. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Crossing the Rhine has changed in 2026: since 1 August the Kurt-Schumacher-Brücke has been closed to cars for about four years while the elevated Hochstraße Nord is replaced, and traffic uses the rebuilt Hochstraße Süd instead. For a day split between BASF, Mannheim and Heidelberg, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Ludwigshafen
Frankfurt Airport is 85 km north of Ludwigshafen, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes by car on the A6 and the A5, and has the widest choice of flights. It now operates from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3; give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden is 109 km to the south, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and Saarbrücken is 125 km west, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. Either can be the better choice if your flight leaves from there. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Ludwigshafen, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes to Frankfurt, more while the Rhine crossings are under construction. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Groups & Event Travel in Ludwigshafen
Each year from late August into early September, the Festival des deutschen Films turns the Parkinsel on the Rhine into an open-air cinema with several film tents; it draws more than 100,000 visitors. In 2026 it ran from 19 August to 6 September. In Mannheim, across the river, the Maimarkt, Germany's largest regional fair, runs from 24 April to 4 May 2027.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a delegation visiting BASF arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group moving between the hotel, the site and an evening in Mannheim, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Book early for the festival weeks and for site visits with fixed slots. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
