Getting Around Venice
A car can cross the Ponte della Libertà, the only road into Venice, and go no further than Piazzale Roma. From there, hotels in the historic centre are reached on foot, by vaporetto or by water taxi. Provide the exact address when you book and we confirm where the car will meet you: in the historic centre that means Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto.
Santa Lucia station, with high-speed trains to Milan, Turin and Rome, is a short walk across the Ponte della Costituzione from Piazzale Roma, where car pickups can be arranged. Mainland trains also call at Mestre. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
On the mainland, Treviso is 30 km from Piazzale Roma and Padua 42 km. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Venice
Venice Marco Polo is 13 km from Piazzale Roma, usually 25–35 minutes by car. Treviso Airport is 40 km away on the A27, about 40–55 minutes. For hotels in the historic centre, the car meets you and drops you at Piazzale Roma, the last point it can reach.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather, and the road leg is only part of the trip: the walk or boat between your hotel and Piazzale Roma comes on top.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Venice, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 25–35 minutes from Piazzale Roma to Marco Polo, 40–55 minutes to Treviso, longer in heavy traffic. Allow for the way to Piazzale Roma when you pick the time. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Venice
From Piazzale Roma the road leads on across the north-east. Verona is 121 km away, Bologna 154 km, Trieste 159 km and Florence 259 km. For a stay that continues in the Dolomites, Cortina d'Ampezzo is 157 km up the A27 and the SS51, and the car goes from Piazzale Roma to your hotel in the mountains in one booking.
Ljubljana is 243 km away, across the border with Slovenia, and the trip runs with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Italy runs checks at its land border with Slovenia under notifications to the European Commission. Have the travel documents required for your nationality and route with you.

Groups & Cruise Travel in Venice
Groups in Venice often start or end with a cruise. Since August 2021, ships over 25,000 GT may not sail through the Bacino di San Marco and the Giudecca Canal, so larger ships berth at Marghera or Fusina; about 540,000 cruise passengers were forecast for 2024, most on cruises starting or ending here. Give the terminal and the ship when you book.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation; when guests arrive on different flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Book the cruise days early: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
