Getting Around Cortina d'Ampezzo
Cortina has no railway: the old line was dismantled decades ago, so every arrival ends on the road. The nearest stations are Dobbiaco, 31 km north in Val Pusteria, and Calalzo, 35 km south in Cadore. If you come by train with skis or several suitcases, a car from either station takes you and the bags straight to the hotel. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For evenings outside the resort, San Vito di Cadore is 12 km down the SS51 and Dobbiaco is 31 km towards Val Pusteria. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve, so dinner in another village does not mean arranging two separate rides.
Put the full hotel address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel the car can stop.

Airport Transfers to Cortina d'Ampezzo
Two airports near Venice serve Cortina from the south. Treviso is 135 km away, about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes by car, and Venice Marco Polo is 146 km, about 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. Both routes follow the A27 and then the SS51 Alemagna, so the gap between them is small, and your airline and route will decide it. Innsbruck, 165 km, is the northern option. That road crosses the Brenner and comes through Val Pusteria, about 2 hours 25 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. The last part of each route is a mountain road, and snow adds time there.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Cortina, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes to Treviso, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes to Marco Polo, longer when it snows. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Cortina d'Ampezzo
After the mountains, many stays continue in a city. Venice is 157 km away by the SS51 and the A27; for a hotel in the historic centre the car takes you to Piazzale Roma. Bolzano is 132 km through Val Pusteria, and Milan 404 km, a full day on the A27 and the A4. With no railway in Cortina, a car from hotel to hotel in one booking spares you the trip to a station and a change of train.
Innsbruck, 161 km away in Austria, is reached through Val Pusteria and over the Brenner. You travel with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border. Have with you the travel documents that your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups, Equipment & Winter Road Travel in Cortina d'Ampezzo
Cortina co-hosted the 2026 Winter Olympics and the 2021 Alpine Ski World Championships, and teams or delegations coming for an event bring equipment cases as well as people. Tell us what you are bringing and we choose the vehicle to fit. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. When the group lands on different flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
From 15 November to 15 April, Anas requires winter tyres or chains on board on the SS51 Alemagna, the road that climbs to Cortina from the south. Towards Bolzano, the shorter way over the Dolomite passes has winter closures, so the car takes the main road through Val Pusteria.
For the winter season, reserve well ahead: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
