Airport Transfers from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) to Cortina d'Ampezzo

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Marco Polo to a hotel in central Cortina, the terminal to a chalet above the town with the skis on board, or Cortina down to Venice for a night on the lagoon before flying out. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Marco Polo up to your Cortina hotel or chalet on arrival, and the drive down to the airport when the holiday ends. In winter, arrival and departure days cluster around the ski weeks, so fix the descent to the airport together with the climb. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at VCE, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Venice Marco Polo to Cortina d'Ampezzo: Route and Drive Time

Cortina d'Ampezzo is 146 km north of Marco Polo. The car takes the A27 north past Treviso towards Belluno, and where the motorway ends it continues on the SS51, the Alemagna, up through the Cadore valleys to Cortina. The drive usually takes 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes.

The motorway is the easy part. What sets the arrival time is the climb on the SS51 after the A27 ends: a mountain road through several villages, slower in snow and busy on summer weekends.

The SS51 is among the signed mountain roads where, between 15 November and 15 April, a vehicle needs winter tyres or chains in the boot. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Venice Marco Polo

For a ski week the first question at Marco Polo is the luggage. The airport has one terminal, every flight comes out on level 0, so skis and boot bags go from reclaim to the vehicle without a change of transport.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. With more than two hours of road ahead, a late landing moves the arrival in Cortina accordingly.

Tell us the number of ski bags or bike boxes when you book, not only the number of people, so the vehicle has room for all of it.

Arriving at Your Hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo

No train reaches Cortina, since its line closed long ago, and the nearest stations, Dobbiaco and Calalzo, are more than 30 km away. Every arrival ends on the road, which is why a direct transfer from the terminal is the usual way up.

Hotels sit in the centre around Corso Italia and along the slopes above it, and chalets are often on side roads outside the town. For a chalet, give the full address and any access notes from the owner, since some roads are steep or narrow in winter.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. The same address is used for the pickup on the way down.

From Cortina d'Ampezzo Back to Venice Marco Polo

Leaving Cortina, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes to Marco Polo, longer in heavy traffic or snow. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

The descent on the SS51 is slower than the motorway after it, and on the changeover days of the season the road carries much of the resort's departing traffic. At Marco Polo there is just one terminal to drive to.

For a last night in Venice, the car can go to Piazzale Roma instead, 157 km from Cortina, and a separate short run covers the airport the following morning.
