Getting Around Ferrara
If you come to Ferrara on business, the day is likely to turn on two addresses: a hotel in or near the old town and Ferrara Fiere Congressi, the city's exhibition and congress centre, which hosts trade fairs such as RemTech and Restauro. Plan the day around the drive between the two.
Ferrara station is on the line between Bologna and Padua, and Italo trains reach Padua in about 33 minutes. For a meeting that starts off the train, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
A fair day can start at your hotel and end at the station for the evening train. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
The historic centre is divided into four limited traffic zones, each marked by electronic gates. Put the full hotel address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel the car can stop.

Airport Transfers in Ferrara
Ferrara has no airport. The nearest is Bologna Airport, 49 km south on the A13, usually 45 minutes to 1 hour by car. Venice Marco Polo is 118 km to the north-east, on the A13, the A4 and the A57, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Book the car to whichever airport your ticket names; for most trips that will be Bologna, simply because it is closer.
Both runs use the A13, the motorway between Bologna and Padua. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Ferrara, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 45 minutes to 1 hour to Bologna Airport, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes to Marco Polo, longer in heavy traffic. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Ferrara
Ferrara lies between Emilia, the Adriatic and the Veneto. Padua is 75 km away on the A13, Ravenna 75 km on the SS16, Venice 112 km, Florence 154 km and Milan 254 km. If a stay in Ferrara continues in Florence or ends with a few days in Venice, book it as one transfer from your hotel here to the next hotel, and the luggage stays in the same car throughout. By car, Venice takes 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, Florence 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes and Milan 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes.
Padua and Ravenna are near enough for a same-day return: 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes to Padua on the A13, and 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes to Ravenna along the SS16. For a meeting in Padua or a day in Ravenna, reserve a Round-Trip and the run home to Ferrara is fixed in the same booking.
When the flight home leaves from Florence rather than Bologna or Venice, the car drives you from Ferrara to Florence Airport, 145 km, in 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes. Give the flight when you book.

Groups & Congress Travel in Ferrara
For a group attending a fair or congress in Ferrara, the venue is likely to be Ferrara Fiere Congressi. When, for example, an event fills the venue, the grounds offer 16,000 m² of covered space in six halls, plus two open-air squares for outdoor exhibits.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation; when colleagues come from different airports, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; send the head count and the luggage, and we choose the vehicle to fit.
For September, when RemTech Expo is on, reserve well ahead: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
