Airport Transfers from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) to Ferrara

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Marco Polo to a hotel near the Castello Estense, the terminal straight to Ferrara Fiere for an exhibitor with a stand to set up, or a Ferrara hotel back to Venice for your departure. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Marco Polo to your hotel in Ferrara on the way in, and back to Venice for the flight home. RemTech Expo brings exhibitors to Ferrara every September; for that month, reserve the outbound and return runs together, once flights are ticketed. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at VCE, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Venice Marco Polo to Ferrara: Route and Drive Time

Ferrara is 118 km south-west of Marco Polo. The car goes round Mestre on the A57, follows the A4 to Padua, and then turns south on the A13, the motorway between Padua and Bologna, as far as the Ferrara exits. The drive usually takes 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes.

Almost the whole route is motorway. The Mestre bypass and the Padua junction are where traffic builds; the A13 across the flat country south of Padua usually moves steadily. In Ferrara, the walls enclose a large old town, and an address inside them is reached more slowly than a hotel or venue outside.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the hotel or venue together with the flight, so the route into the city is clear.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Venice Marco Polo

Marco Polo is a single-terminal airport, with all arrivals on level 0. For Ferrara, far from the lagoon, the water docks play no part: the drive south starts on the road.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. On a drive of almost two hours, it means a late landing shifts the arrival in Ferrara, not the whole booking.

The new station planned beneath the terminal, due around the end of 2026, will link the airport to Venice, Padua, Vicenza and Verona, not to Ferrara. A train from the airport would still mean a change in Padua with the luggage.

Arriving at Your Address in Ferrara

Four separate limited-traffic zones, A to D, cover Ferrara's old centre, and electronic gates guard each one. Hotels near the Castello Estense and the cathedral are inside them, so for those addresses, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you the nearest point a car can reach. Ferrara station, on the Padua–Bologna line, is outside the old centre.

Trade visitors usually head for Ferrara Fiere Congressi, where RemTech and Restauro take place. Give the hall or entrance with the booking, particularly on a set-up day with equipment.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. The same goes for the pickup on your way back to the airport.

From Ferrara Back to Venice Marco Polo

Leaving Ferrara, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes from the centre to Marco Polo, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

Marco Polo has one terminal, so the drop-off needs only your flight. The route goes back through Padua, 75 km from Ferrara, which suits a last meeting there on the way to the airport as a separate booking.

If the trip continues in Venice rather than ending at the airport, Piazzale Roma is 112 km from Ferrara, and the car can take you straight there.

How long is the transfer from Venice Marco Polo Airport to Ferrara?

Ferrara is 118 km from Marco Polo on the A57, A4 and A13. The drive usually takes 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, almost all on motorway.

Is Bologna or Venice the better airport for Ferrara?

Bologna is closer: 49 km, 45 minutes to 1 hour. Marco Polo, 118 km away, is worth it if that is where you land, or if Venice or Padua are also on the itinerary.

Can the car drop me inside Ferrara's walls?

The old centre is split into four limited traffic zones with electronic gates. Send the full hotel address with the booking, and we confirm whether the car can reach the entrance or where the nearest drop-off point is.

Can you take our stand team from Marco Polo to Ferrara Fiere?

Yes. Give the hall or entrance, the number of people and the equipment. Sprinter vans seat up to 12 passengers with luggage, and coaches are available in several sizes up to 56.

Where will I meet my chauffeur at Marco Polo?

Arrivals come out on level 0; the airport has one terminal. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time.

Will the new Marco Polo rail station serve Ferrara?

Not directly. The station, due around the end of 2026, is planned to link the airport with Venice, Padua, Vicenza and Verona. From Ferrara the road transfer takes 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes.
