Verona Airport to Venice: Route and Drive Time
Venice is 129 km east of Verona Airport, almost all of it motorway. The car joins the A4 near the airport and follows it past Vicenza and Padua, takes the A57 round Mestre, and then crosses the Ponte della Libertà to Piazzale Roma. The drive usually takes 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes.
On a run of this length the A4 sets the pace: the stretches around Padua and the Mestre bypass are where time is gained or lost. An address in Mestre comes before the causeway and shortens the trip; the Tronchetto car park and the cruise berths are at the far end.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Add the boat or the walk from Piazzale Roma when you plan the evening, because the car covers only the road.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Verona Airport
At Villafranca, departures are signed Terminal 1 and arrivals Terminal 2, both within a single building, so every passenger comes out at the same arrivals area after baggage reclaim.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. On a two-hour drive that matters: a delay at Villafranca shifts the whole evening in Venice, not only the pickup.
The airport finished a long enlargement in February 2026, which added space and gates on the departures side. All arriving passengers still leave by one exit.

Arriving at Your Address in Venice
The road into Venice stops at the lagoon's edge. Piazzale Roma is the last point a car reaches; from the Tronchetto car park, the People Mover shuttles across to it. Water taxis leave from Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto and Santa Lucia station, so the next leg can start at whichever of the three suits your hotel.
Not every Venice address needs a boat. Mestre, on the mainland, has an ordinary road network, and a hotel there is reached like any other city address. For a ship, the berth decides the drop-off: larger vessels use Marghera or Fusina rather than the old city.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. With several suitcases, choosing Tronchetto or Piazzale Roma by the hotel's side of the Grand Canal can save a long walk.

From Venice Back to Verona Airport
Leaving Venice, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes from Piazzale Roma to Verona Airport, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
The pickup is at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, so the boat from the hotel comes first; after a cruise it can be at the ship's terminal. At Villafranca, departures are signed Terminal 1, and the car sets you down on that side.
If your trip ends in Verona or at Lake Garda instead, the drop-off can be that hotel: Verona is 121 km from Venice, and Sirmione lies a little further west on the same motorway.
