Getting Around Portofino
Portofino is reached by a single road, the SP227 from Santa Margherita Ligure. From mid-March to 1 November, a traffic filter at Cervara holds cars back whenever the village car parks are full, so on busy days the last few kilometres can be slow.
The nearest station is Santa Margherita Ligure-Portofino, on the Genoa–Pisa line, about 5 km from the village. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For dinner away from the harbour, Santa Margherita Ligure is 5 km back along the same road, and Genoa is 36 km away for a longer evening. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers to Portofino
Genoa Airport is the one to aim for: 45 km on the A12 and the SP227, usually 45 minutes to 1 hour by car. Pisa Airport is 149 km to the south-east, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes on the A12, and Milan Malpensa is 215 km, 2 hours 40 minutes to 3 hours 35 minutes. If your airline does not fly to Genoa, compare the road times of the other two before you choose the flight.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather, and in season the Cervara filter applies to the final stretch.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Portofino, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 45 minutes to 1 hour to Genoa Airport, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes to Pisa, longer in heavy traffic. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Portofino
When the stay ends in a city, the car goes from your Portofino hotel to the next one in one booking. Genoa is 36 km away and Milan 169 km on the A12 and the A7, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes. For a day on the Cinque Terre, Monterosso al Mare is 73 km to the east.
Monaco is 215 km west on the A12, A10 and A8, 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes, and the road crosses into France before the Principality. For that run you have the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
France has notified the European Commission of checks at its internal borders, the Italian border included. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups, Luggage & Summer Travel in Portofino
For a group, count the suitcases as carefully as the guests, because the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. When guests fly in at different times, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
In summer the pressure is on the SP227. From mid-March to 1 November the Cervara filter holds traffic when the village car parks are full. Put the exact address in the request, and we will tell you the nearest point where a van or coach can set guests down.
Book early for the season, from mid-March to early November: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
