Getting Around Lucca
Lucca's historic centre sits inside its walls, and nearly all of it is a ZTL. Cameras check the gates on the way in and, with the newer gates, on the way out as well. Send the full address with your booking; we will then let you know the closest point a car can reach.
For a longer train journey you may arrive at Pisa Centrale, about 20 km away, or at Florence Santa Maria Novella, 77 km. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Evenings from Lucca can turn towards the coast: Viareggio is 29 km away, Forte dei Marmi 36 km and Pietrasanta 38 km, each usually 35–55 minutes by car. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Lucca
Lucca has no airport. Pisa Airport is the closer one, 35 km away on the A11 and A12, usually 40–55 minutes by car. Florence Airport is 71 km away on the A11, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes. If both work for your trip, Pisa saves time on the road; if your flight uses Florence, the car is booked there.
Both routes run mainly on the A11, so the time depends on traffic around Pisa and on the approach to Florence. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Lucca, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 40–55 minutes to Pisa Airport, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes to Florence Airport, and more when traffic is heavy. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Lucca
From Lucca, Florence is 77 km away on the A11, Siena 145 km and Genoa 158 km. A stay split between Lucca and Florence, or between Lucca and a hotel on the coast, becomes one transfer: a single booking takes you and your luggage from the Lucca hotel to the next.
Expect 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes to Florence, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes to Siena and 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes to Genoa. The move from a hotel inside the walls to a beach hotel in Forte dei Marmi, 36 km, is a One-Way booking of 40–55 minutes.
The Cinque Terre are 103 km away along the A12, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes by car. Monterosso al Mare is closed to cars. The car takes you as far as the Fegina car park, off the SP38, and the last part into the village is a walk. For a day there, a Round-Trip booking holds both legs: you set the morning pickup in Lucca and the return from Fegina when you reserve.

Groups & Congress Travel in Lucca
Lucca's largest crowd arrives for Lucca Comics & Games, at the end of October and the start of November. At the 2025 edition, for example, over 280,000 tickets were sold and 17,000 professionals attended. Exhibitors, guests and festival teams may all need transfers on the same days.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation; when a team lands at Pisa and Florence on different flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; we choose the vehicle to fit the passengers and the luggage.
Book early for late October and early November: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
