Getting Around Tonbridge
Tonbridge is a market town on the River Medway and gives its name to the borough of Tonbridge and Malling. The gatehouse of Tonbridge Castle stands by the river in the town centre, and Tonbridge School, founded in 1553, is also in the town.
Tonbridge station is a junction where the Hastings, Redhill and Ashford lines meet, and its London trains run to Charing Cross and Cannon Street. If you change here or come in from the coast, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. The A21 bypasses the town to the east and links it with the M25 and with Tunbridge Wells.
For a house near the castle or a boarding house at the school, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. An estate agent showing properties in Tonbridge, Penshurst and Tunbridge Wells in one afternoon can book by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Tonbridge
Gatwick is the quickest airport from Tonbridge: 36 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes. London City Airport is 35 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; its one terminal beside the Royal Docks served 3.74 million people in 2025. London Southend Airport is 50 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Heathrow is 59 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, and Stansted Airport 62 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For a pupil returning at the start of term, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Tonbridge, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the A21 joins the M25 at Junction 5, after which motorway traffic decides the timing to Heathrow and Stansted. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Tonbridge
Penshurst and its medieval manor house are 6 miles west, 20–30 minutes. Tunbridge Wells is 7 miles south, 20–30 minutes. Edenbridge, the small town near Hever Castle, is 12 miles, 40–55 minutes.
Brighton is 40 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes, for the seafront and the Royal Pavilion. Oxford is 99 miles, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes; for a college open day or a visit to the university, leave early.
Book by the hour and one chauffeur drives the whole outing, there and back. For one leg only, book a one-way trip and reserve the journey back as a separate booking.

Groups & Event Travel in Tonbridge
Tonbridge School is a boarding and day school for boys. For a team of pupils heading to an away fixture, or parents arriving from overseas for a school event, transport can be planned for the whole group.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If parents and pupils come in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a sports team travelling with its kit, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, cricket bags and rowing kit included.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early at the start and end of term and around school events. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
