Getting Around Gravesend
Gravesend is the chief town of Gravesham borough, on the Kent bank of the Thames opposite Tilbury. It is home to the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, one of the largest Sikh temples outside India.
Rail links are strong. Gravesend station has Southeastern high-speed trains to London St Pancras as well as mainline services to Charing Cross. Ebbsfleet International, on the same high-speed line, is 3 miles west of the town centre, 15–20 minutes by car. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
The A2 runs along the southern edge of the town towards London and the Medway towns. For an address in the riverside streets or the newer estates around Ebbsfleet, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. On a day of viewings or meetings across Gravesham, book the car by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Gravesend
London City Airport is the closest: 22 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Gatwick, to the south-west, is 43 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; its 42.8 million passengers in 2025 used the North and South terminals. London Southend Airport is 35 miles, also 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, because the route crosses the river at Dartford. Stansted Airport is 47 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and Luton Airport 64 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For any arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Gravesend, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: flights from the Essex side of the river depend on the Dartford Crossing, while Gatwick is reached by the M25 to the south. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Gravesend
Rochester, with its castle, cathedral and Dickens connections, is 9 miles east, 25–35 minutes. Maidstone, the county town of Kent, is 17 miles south, 35–50 minutes.
On the north Kent coast, Whitstable is 38 miles, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Dover, for its castle and the ferries to France, is 55 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.
Portsmouth makes the longest day of the set: 100 miles, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes, for the Historic Dockyard or a ferry from the south coast. Travelling by road, you choose the start time and the luggage stays in the car between one sight and the next.

Groups & Event Travel in Gravesend
Family gatherings at the Gurdwara and religious festivals bring relatives from other towns and from abroad, often several generations travelling together. Other groups come through Ebbsfleet International on high-speed trains for events in north Kent.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If relatives arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a party moving as one, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, with room for older passengers and gifts.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around festival dates and bank holiday weekends. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
