Airport Transfers from or to London Gatwick Airport (LGW)

One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: the South Terminal to an office in Crawley, the North Terminal to a hotel in Reigate, a house in Tunbridge Wells to the North Terminal for a morning flight. For an airport pick-up, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. For a flight out, you choose the time.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: the North Terminal to a seafront hotel in Brighton when you land, and back to that terminal when the stay is over, or the South Terminal to the cruise terminal in Dover and back to Gatwick when the ship returns. In Derby week and the school holidays, cars around the airport go early. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Some arrival days do not end at one address. With hourly service from LGW you choose at booking where the day starts, where it ends and how many hours you need, and the same chauffeur and vehicle remain with you for that whole period. Send the day's programme with the booking, so the chauffeur has it before you land. It suits a day built around appointments rather than a single destination.

Chauffeur Service at London Gatwick Airport (LGW)

Gatwick handled 42.8 million passengers in 2025, second among the London airports after Heathrow. It has two terminals, North and South, nearly a mile apart and linked by a shuttle, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Gatwick directs drivers who collect passengers to the Short Stay car parks of the North and South Terminals.

The airport sits in the borough of Crawley, West Sussex. Horley is 4 miles, 15–20 minutes, and Crawley 5 miles, 20–30 minutes. Reigate is 9 miles, 25–35 minutes. On the coast, Brighton is 27 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes; Tunbridge Wells in Kent is 23 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes. Central London is 31 miles north, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, and Croydon on the way is 22 miles, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.

When you land, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. Going the other way, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Sprinter Van Service at London Gatwick Airport (LGW)

Gatwick is a natural landing point for a cruise from Dover, whose cruise terminal stands at the Western Docks. The port is about 84 miles east by road, 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, and a party joining a ship carries formal clothes and luggage for a whole voyage. For such a party, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 passengers with their luggage. Write down every case when you book, so the vehicle is matched to the load. Relatives who fly in from different cities arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, and when you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation.

Racegoers form a smaller group with a short ride. Lingfield Park lies about 10 miles east of the terminal, 30–40 minutes, and its 2027 fixture list includes All-Weather Championships racing on Good Friday, 26 March, and the Derby and Oaks Trials on 8 May. A van takes a party of owners or friends straight from the terminal to the course.

Coach Service at London Gatwick Airport (LGW)

Some groups fill a whole coach: conference delegates for the Brighton Centre, which has hosted party conferences and trade meetings since 1977, language schools on the Sussex coast, or company teams on an incentive trip. Coaches come in several sizes with up to 56 seats, and the luggage travels in the hold, so forty or fifty people leave the terminal together.

Racing sets several big dates in Surrey. Epsom Downs stages its Derby Festival over 4 and 5 June 2027, Oaks Day first and Derby Day the next afternoon; Epsom is 26 miles from Gatwick, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Lingfield Park adds seven Summer Sounds race-and-music evenings between 22 May and 11 September 2027. Student and visitor groups also head west: Guildford is 37 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes.

Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Derby week and the summer holidays. A coach needs a safe place to stop at a hotel or a campus, so send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Which terminal do I need at Gatwick?

Check your ticket or the airline's app. As a rule, the North Terminal is home to easyJet, and the South Terminal handles short-haul British Airways services, along with a number of long-haul and leisure airlines. Gatwick has moved airlines between its terminals before, so check close to the day and put your terminal and flight number in the booking.

Is Gatwick in London?

No. Gatwick lies outside Greater London, in the borough of Crawley in West Sussex. By road, central London is 31 miles away, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes depending on traffic, while Crawley town is 5 miles, 20–30 minutes.

How do I pay the Gatwick drop-off charge?

Gatwick charges every vehicle that uses the drop-off zones at the North and South Terminals, and it raised the charge on 6 January 2026. You pay online or with AutoPay by midnight on the day after your visit. Collections go to the Short Stay car parks of both terminals. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

Our group arrives on different flights — can that be arranged?

Yes. Book one transfer per flight, so a family landing at the North Terminal in the morning and at the South Terminal in the afternoon needs two bookings. For a van or a coach, tell support how many cases, boxes or sports bags travel with the party, not only the number of passengers. Around Derby week, book early.

Does Gatwick have a train station?

Yes. Gatwick Express runs non-stop to London Victoria in about 30 minutes, and the fastest Thameslink trains reach London Bridge in 29 minutes. If you take the train on and want a car waiting at the other end, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.

What do passengers need to know about London Gatwick Airport (LGW) in 2026 and 2027?

The Northern Runway, which brings the standby runway into routine use, cleared its last legal hurdle on 4 August 2026, as the Court of Appeal turned down the request for an appeal; first flights are targeted for around 2030 and no start of works has been announced. At security, the old 100 ml limit no longer applies at Gatwick: liquid containers of up to 2 litres are accepted.
