Airport Transfers from London Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Kingswood

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the South Terminal to a relative's house in Burgh Heath, the North Terminal to a house near Kingswood station, or a home in Tadworth to the South Terminal for a morning departure. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from the North Terminal to a rented house in Kingswood on the Thursday before the Derby, and out to Gatwick again on the Sunday after racing. Cars around the Downs are in demand that weekend, so reserve as soon as the flights are set. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LGW, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Gatwick Airport to Kingswood: Route and Drive Time

Kingswood stands on the North Downs due north of the airport, and the drive from either Gatwick terminal to the village is 19 miles, normally 40–55 minutes. The car takes the motorway north to the M25 and leaves it at Junction 8, at the southern end of Kingswood, where the A217 starts its climb onto the Downs.

What decides the final minutes is the side of the A217 you are heading for. Tadworth lies just across the road to the west, Burgh Heath stretches along it further north, and the station on the Tattenham Corner line is close to the village centre. Kingswood is mainly residential, so the house name or number tells the driver more than a street name alone.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. If you land in the evening rush hour, allow for a slower run on the M25.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Gatwick Airport

Gatwick works with two terminals, North and South; give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Collections happen in two Short Stay car parks, one per terminal, with express bays set aside for a driver who stays at the wheel.

When you fly in, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

There is no need to rush through baggage reclaim with children or a heavy case: the chauffeur works from the moment you touch down. The train is a less direct option for Kingswood, as the village lies on the Tattenham Corner branch, which does not run through the airport station.

Arriving at Your Address in Kingswood

Kingswood has no high street of hotels; it is a district of houses spread along the A217 towards Burgh Heath and over to Tadworth. Two landmarks help a driver find the way: Kingswood Warren, the Gothic house where the BBC ran its research department from 1948 to 2010, and the James Braid golf course to the south of it.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a house behind a gate or at the end of a long drive, add the house name as well as the road.

If you have arrived for a family visit, the chauffeur takes you straight from the terminal car park to the front of the house, so luggage, pushchairs and presents come out of the car at the address and not at the station.

From Kingswood Back to London Gatwick Airport

The return to Gatwick is a drive of 40–55 minutes on a normal day: down the A217 to Junction 8, then the motorway south. Time your pick-up by counting back those minutes from check-in. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Gatwick's buildings lie almost a mile from each other, each with a separate drop-off. Check your airline's terminal on the ticket and enter it in the booking.

One weekend in the year needs extra margin. The Derby Festival runs on 4 and 5 June 2027 at the racecourse on the Downs, which is 4 miles from the village, 15–20 minutes by car. If your flight leaves on either day, choose an earlier pick-up so that race traffic around the Downs does not cut into your time at the airport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How many minutes is the Gatwick to Kingswood drive?

Normally 40–55 minutes for 19 miles, using the motorway to Junction 8 of the M25 and then the A217. Put your terminal and the full house address in the booking.

What happens if our flight into Gatwick lands two hours late?

The pick-up moves with it. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, so there is nothing to rebook. Just check that the booking carries the flight number from your ticket.

Where at Gatwick is the car?

Gatwick sends collections to its Short Stay car parks; yours is the one beside the terminal you land at. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Which borough is Kingswood in?

Kingswood, with Burgh Heath, is part of Reigate and Banstead, one of the Surrey boroughs. From 1 April 2027 its council services are due to pass to the new East Surrey Council. This is not the Kingswood near Bristol.

Six of us are coming for the Derby with formal clothes and hampers. What should we book?

A Sprinter van takes the six of you and the luggage in one vehicle. Count the cases when you book and tell support about hampers and garment bags, so the vehicle is matched to the load. Book early for 4–5 June 2027.

What do you need to know about London Gatwick Airport in 2026–2027?

The Northern Runway scheme, which would put Gatwick's standby runway into everyday use, has had no legal obstacle left since 4 August 2026, when judges refused to let opponents take the case further. No date for the start of construction has been set, and the first flights on it are expected around 2030.
