Getting Around Ottobrunn
Ottobrunn, in the district of Munich just south-east of the city, is closely tied to aerospace. Ludwig Bölkow founded his company here, and it grew into Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB). Today Airbus and IABG have sites in Ottobrunn, and the Ludwig Bölkow Campus, a joint venture of Airbus, Siemens and IABG, brings together firms and research partners such as the Technical University of Munich, the Bundeswehr University Munich and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
Munich city centre is 13 km away, 25–35 minutes on the A8. The Messe München in Riem is 18 km, 30–40 minutes, so Ottobrunn works as a base for a trade fair as well as for project meetings on the campus. The Wolf-Ferrari-Haus is the town's culture and event centre.
For a day of reviews on the campus, a lunch meeting in Munich and an afternoon at the Messe, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. If the meeting is at a company site, name the gate too. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Ottobrunn
Munich Airport is 56 km from Ottobrunn, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, as the route runs round the east of Munich on the A99. At the airport, Terminal 2 (built with Lufthansa, in use since 2003) is used by the Lufthansa Group and members of the Star Alliance, and Terminal 1 by Condor, Eurowings, British Airways and Air France. Salzburg Airport, across the Austrian border, and Memmingen Airport are 128 km and 127 km away, each 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours; from Ottobrunn, Salzburg is reached straight down the A8. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Ottobrunn, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to Munich Airport in normal traffic, longer when the A99 is congested. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Ottobrunn
The A8 towards Salzburg starts close to Ottobrunn. Rosenheim is 61 km along it, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, and its Herbstfest on the Loretowiese is planned for 28 August to 12 September 2027. Salzburg itself is 137 km, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. Innsbruck is 156 km, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, with INTERALPIN at Messe Innsbruck on 20–23 April 2027. Kitzbühel in Tyrol is 117 km, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, and the 87th Hahnenkamm races are held there on 22–24 January 2027. To the north, Nuremberg is 188 km, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes, for a visit to a supplier or the NürnbergMesse.
A transfer into Austria is booked as one journey, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders. On the A8 at the Salzburg crossing, allow time for a check when you come back. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Ottobrunn
If you are bringing a delegation to Ottobrunn, for a programme review, an acceptance test or a conference on the campus, the transfers add up quickly. Riem is 18 km away, so a stand at a Munich fair, such as IAA MOBILITY from 7 to 12 September 2027, which is followed by the Oktoberfest from 18 September to 3 October, can be served from a hotel here.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a delegation arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For people travelling to the same site, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, test equipment cases included.
Plan early for September and the big Munich fair weeks. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early at those times. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
