Munich Airport to Ottobrunn: Route and Drive Time
Ottobrunn lies just south-east of Munich, and the airport is far to the north-east, so the transfer goes round the city instead of through it. The distance is 56 km, using the A92, the A9 and then the A99 along the eastern side of Munich, and the drive normally takes 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. The A99 is the section that sets the time: when it is congested, expect the upper end.
Once off the motorway, the destination is usually one of two kinds. The aerospace sites of Airbus and IABG and the Ludwig Bölkow Campus are company grounds with gates, while the hotels and homes of the town are ordinary streets. A visit to the campus therefore needs more detail in the booking than a family address does. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Munich Airport
MUC divides its airlines between two terminals. A guest flying with Lufthansa or a Star Alliance partner lands at Terminal 2, possibly at a gate in its satellite, which an underground train links to the main hall in under a minute. Terminal 1 is used by Eurowings, Condor, Air France and British Airways, among others. Between the terminals, the Munich Airport Center holds the shops and restaurants. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
If a missed connection puts you on a different flight, update the flight number in the booking.

Arriving at Your Address in Ottobrunn
Ottobrunn's link with aviation goes back to Ludwig Bölkow, who founded his company here; it later became Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB). Today Airbus and IABG run sites in the town, and the Ludwig Bölkow Campus, set up by Airbus, Siemens and IABG, links companies with research partners; among them are the German Aerospace Center (DLR), TUM and the university of the Bundeswehr in Munich.
Company grounds have their own entrances and visitor rules, and the right gate is not always the one on the postal address. Ask your host which entrance visitors use. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.
For an evening event, the Wolf-Ferrari-Haus is the town's culture and event centre. The Messe in Riem is only 18 km away, 30–40 minutes by road.

From Ottobrunn Back to Munich Airport
The return follows the same arc round the east of Munich, so allow 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, and more when the A99 is jammed in the evening. Base the pickup on the length of that drive rather than on a fixed hour. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Your ticket names the departure terminal. Lufthansa and Star Alliance flights leave from Terminal 2, the other airlines from Terminal 1, where non-Schengen flights use the pier opened in April 2026. The car drives to the terminal you give.
A review meeting on the campus can overrun, and the car is booked for the time you set. If your schedule is tight, plan the pickup from the company gate for after the last agenda item, not from the hotel, so the drive starts where the day ends.
