Getting Around Como
Como sits at the southern end of the lake, and many lake hotels are further up the shore. Bellagio is 31 km away by road; the scheduled slow boat takes about 2.5 hours and the fast boat about 40–50 minutes. With luggage, the car is usually the simpler way to reach a lakeside hotel.
Como San Giovanni is the main station, with direct Trenord trains to Milano Centrale in about 40 minutes and EuroCity trains to Zurich. Como Nord Lago, by Piazza Cavour and the ferry pier, serves trains from Milano Cadorna. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For an evening out, Cernobbio is 6 km away and Bellagio 31 km. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
Cernobbio is also home to Villa Erba, a congress and exhibition centre with 28 meeting rooms and a central pavilion for up to 1,500 people.
The walled city of Como is a ZTL all year, with electronic control at its gates. Put the full hotel address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel the car can stop.

Airport Transfers to Como
Malpensa and Linate are almost the same distance from Como: Malpensa is 52 km away via the A9, A36 and SS336, about 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, and Linate 54 km via the SS36, about 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes. Milan Bergamo is 84 km away, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and is the longest run. In practice, your flight decides, and the reservation names the airport you land at. For a hotel in Bellagio, add the 31 km lake road from Como.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Como, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to Malpensa, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes to Linate, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes to Bergamo, longer in heavy traffic. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Como
A lake stay often ends with a few days in Milan, 53 km away. A single reservation covers the move from the lake hotel to your Milan hotel, and the bags stay in the vehicle the whole way.
Switzerland starts just north of the town. Lugano is 32 km away on the A2, across the border at Chiasso, and St. Moritz 145 km by Chiavenna and the Maloja Pass, a road that is open all year. Both trips run with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
As Switzerland is not in the EU customs union, customs rules apply at the Swiss border. Have with you the travel documents that your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups, Luggage & Lake Travel in Como
For guests of a private event or a company retreat on the lake, tell us how many bags, garment covers and cases the group is bringing, and we choose the vehicle to fit. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. When guests fly in on different days or to different airports, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Some villa hotels are reached by boat for the last stretch. In that case, name the pier and the boat's departure in the booking; the car's drop-off is then the pier, in Como or on the lake shore. For hotels along the lake road, put the address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel the coach can stop.
Reserve group dates on the lake well ahead, since vehicles and drivers in the area are reserved early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
