Getting Around Bergamo
Bergamo works on two levels. Città Bassa, the modern lower town around Porta Nuova, is where the station is; Città Alta, the walled upper town on the hill, is linked to it by a funicular. When you book, say which level your hotel and your meetings are on, because they count as separate addresses.
Bergamo station is in Città Bassa, with direct regional trains to Milano Centrale. From the station, Città Alta is reached by bus and funicular, or by car. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
A working day can start at a hotel in Città Alta and end with a late flight from Orio al Serio, 7 km from the centre. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
Città Alta's historic centre is a limited-traffic zone (ZTL) with camera-controlled gates. Put the full hotel address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel the car can stop.

Airport Transfers in Bergamo
Milan Bergamo Airport, at Orio al Serio, is 7 km from Porta Nuova, usually 15–20 minutes by car. In 2025 it handled 16.9 million passengers on routes to 152 destinations in 44 countries. Milan Linate is 50 km away on the A4 and A51, about 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, and Malpensa 91 km, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes. Your ticket decides which of the three you fly into.
The runs to Linate and Malpensa use the A4 towards Milan, so traffic on that motorway decides the time, and bad weather can add to it.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Bergamo, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 15–20 minutes to Orio al Serio, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to Linate, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes to Malpensa, longer at peak hours on the A4. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Bergamo
Bergamo sits on the A4 between Milan and Venice, so onward trips run along one motorway. Milan is 52 km away, Brescia 53 km, Verona 117 km and Venice 227 km. If a visit to a supplier in Bergamo is followed by meetings in Verona, a single reservation links the two addresses. For the mountains, Bormio is 153 km north through Val Camonica and over the Aprica Pass.
Lugano is 119 km away, across the Swiss border, and the trip runs with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
As Switzerland is not in the EU customs union, customs rules apply at the Swiss border. Have with you the travel documents that your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Bergamo
Many groups start their trip at Orio al Serio. When, for example, a delegation lands there for meetings in Bergamo and Milan, the airport is 7 km from the lower town and 52 km from Milan, so the programme can be split between the two cities.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation; when colleagues arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; send the head count and the luggage, and we choose the vehicle to fit. If the group stays in Città Alta, send the hotel address, and we will let you know how near the hotel a larger vehicle can stop.
Book once the dates are settled, since vehicles and drivers in the area are reserved early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
