Airport Transfers from Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) to Como

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: BGY to a lakefront hotel in the city, the terminal to the congress halls of Villa Erba, or a rented villa above Cernobbio back to BGY. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Bergamo Airport to your hotel or villa in Como, and from there to BGY at the end of the stay. For a lake holiday or a week around a private event, the return date is usually known from the start, so the departure can be reserved together with the arrival. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at BGY, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Bergamo Airport to Como: Route and Drive Time

Como is 84 km from Bergamo Airport. The car runs west on the A4, then turns north on the SS36 towards Lecco and takes the SS342, the old Briantea road, west across the hills of Brianza to Como. Normally the drive takes 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.

The motorway part is short. The second half is on main roads through the towns of Brianza, and that is where most of the time goes, especially at commuter hours. Addresses in the city of Como and on the western shore towards Cernobbio are at the end of this route; the far side of the lake is a different case, covered below.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the villa or hotel address with the flight number, and a gate code or private road name if the owner has sent one.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Bergamo Airport

Guests of private events and villa parties often fly with more luggage than usual: suits in garment bags, gifts, a week's clothes. At Bergamo everyone lands into the same place: the single terminal takes Schengen and non-Schengen arrivals on its ground floor, and everyone comes out through the one arrivals exit.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. With well over an hour to the lake, that keeps the drive starting from the moment you actually come out.

Tell us the number of cases and garment bags when you book; the vehicle is chosen for them. The terminal is being extended at the moment, but the arrivals level is not affected.

Arriving at Your Hotel or Villa in Como

Como's centro storico, the grid of streets inside the walls, is a year-round ZTL. Plenty of hotels stand on the lakefront outside the walls, and villas line the shore road north of the city towards Cernobbio, where Villa Erba, a congress and exhibition centre, is 6 km from the centre.

Some villa hotels are reached from a pier for the last stretch. In that case the car's drop-off is the pier, and you give its name and the boat time in the booking. If you continue by train, Como San Giovanni is the main station, and Como Nord Lago, by Piazza Cavour, is the terminus for trains from Milano Cadorna.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For an address inside the walls, we will tell you the nearest point a car can reach.

From Como Back to Bergamo Airport

Leaving Como, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes to Orio al Serio, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

The road through Brianza and then the A4 are both commuter routes, so a weekday morning departure is the slow case. From a villa north of Cernobbio, add the drive along the shore to Como. At BGY there is only one terminal, and the car goes to the departures level.

A lake stay can end in Milan instead: the city is 53 km from Como, and a separate booking takes you from the villa to your Milan hotel before a later flight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How long is the transfer from Bergamo Airport to Como?

Como is 84 km from the airport, via the A4, the SS36 and the SS342 across Brianza. The drive usually takes 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.

Is Bergamo the right airport for Lake Como?

For the city of Como, Malpensa (52 km) and Linate (54 km) are closer. For Bellagio or the Lecco side of the lake, Bergamo can be the nearest: Bellagio is 61 km from BGY. Book the airport your flight uses.

Can the car drive into the old town of Como?

The old city inside the walls is a year-round limited-traffic zone, with electronic gates. Send the hotel address when you book, and we will tell you whether the car can reach the entrance or where the nearest drop-off point is.

Our villa is reached by boat. Where does the car take us?

To the pier. Give the pier name and the boat time in the booking; the car's drop-off is the pier, and the boat is arranged with the villa.

We are travelling to a private event with a lot of luggage. What should we tell you?

The number of passengers and of cases and garment bags. Sprinter vans seat up to 12 passengers with luggage, and coaches are available in several sizes up to 56, so the vehicle can be matched to what you carry.

Where do we meet the chauffeur at Bergamo Airport?

Downstairs in the only terminal, at the single arrivals exit used by every flight. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet.
