Getting Around Stock
Stock is a parish in the City of Chelmsford district of Essex, in the countryside between the city and Billericay, which lies just to the south. It had 2,156 residents at the 2021 census. The B1007 runs through the middle of the village and links it with Chelmsford, Billericay and Basildon, and it joins the A12 at junction 15.
The village has a windmill on its eastern side and a Grade I listed parish church, All Saints. Three pubs stand in the village, The Bear, The Hoop and The Baker's Arms, and there are two hotels, The Harvard Inn and Greenwoods.
Stock has no station; the nearest are Ingatestone and Billericay, both with Greater Anglia trains to London Liverpool Street. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a hotel, a pub or a house on a lane outside the village, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
For a day of calls in Chelmsford and Billericay with a lunch in the village between them, choose an hourly booking: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Stock
The nearest airport is Southend Airport, 18 miles to the south-east, 40–55 minutes. To the north-west, Stansted Airport is 25 miles, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes; it handled 29.76 million passengers in 2025, all in one terminal. London City Airport is 26 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes.
Luton Airport is 54 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and Gatwick 59 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For a flight home, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Stock, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the B1007 leads north to the A12 or south towards the A127, and London City Airport depends on traffic in east London. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Stock
Billericay is 4 miles, 15–20 minutes. Chelmsford is 9 miles north, 20–30 minutes, and Brentwood 9 miles west, 25–35 minutes.
Cambridge is 54 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The longest classic day out on the list is Winchester, with its cathedral: 114 miles, 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours.
For that kind of distance, an hourly booking means the same chauffeur drives you there and back; a one-way booking finishes at your destination, with any return added as a new booking.

Groups & Event Travel in Stock
If a party is staying at one of the village hotels and needs to reach Stansted or Southend together, one vehicle is easier than several. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, including suitcases and garment bags.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the guests fly in from different cities, on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in December and around bank holidays. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
