Getting Around Danbury
Danbury is a parish and village of the Chelmsford district, Essex. It stands on a hill 367 feet above sea level, on the site of an ancient hill fort, and the A414 runs through its centre, linking it with Chelmsford to the west and Maldon to the east.
The village is surrounded by green space. Danbury Country Park, a former medieval deer park owned by Essex County Council, is here, and Danbury Common, south of the centre, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The parish church of St John the Baptist dates from the 13th century.
There is no station in the village. Chelmsford, 7 miles away, 20–30 minutes, has trains to London Liverpool Street. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. For a car park at the country park or a house off the A414, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
On a day of viewings or visits between Danbury, Maldon and Chelmsford, an hourly booking works: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Danbury
Southend Airport is the closest: 18 miles south-east, 40–55 minutes by car. easyJet has had a base there since 31 March 2025. Stansted Airport is 25 miles, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes; its 2025 total was 29.76 million passengers.
Towards London, City Airport is 34 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Luton Airport is 62 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, and Gatwick 68 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. On your return journey, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Danbury, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the A414 through the village and into Chelmsford is the first stretch of almost every trip. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Danbury
Hatfield Peverel, on the A12, is 6 miles, 20–30 minutes. The village of Stock is 9 miles south, 20–30 minutes.
Cambridge is 51 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. For a family day, the Harry Potter sets at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London are 54 miles away, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; set the pick-up time around your entry slot.
The Goodwood estate in West Sussex, home to motor-racing and horse-racing events, is 109 miles, 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours. For a day there and back, keep the car by the hour; a one-way booking leaves you at the gate, and the trip home is a second booking.

Groups & Event Travel in Danbury
With the country park and the Common on the doorstep, group outings are easy to picture. If a rambling club wants to walk from Danbury to Maldon and be collected at the end, or a class needs a run from the school to the park, one larger vehicle keeps the group together: a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, including rucksacks and boots.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests for a family gathering in the village arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on summer weekends and around bank holidays. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
