Getting Around Broomfield
Broomfield is a village on the northern edge of Chelmsford, in Essex, and part of the City of Chelmsford district. It is best known for Broomfield Hospital, run by Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, which includes a regional burns and plastic surgery unit.
For a hospital appointment, a ward visit or a shift change, give the department or entrance as part of the address. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. The same applies to a house in the village or on one of the lanes towards Great Waltham.
Broomfield has no station of its own. Chelmsford station, with trains to London Liverpool Street, is in the city centre, and Beaulieu Park station, opened in October 2025, is on the north-east side of the city. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
If a relative needs to go from the hospital to a pharmacy in Chelmsford and then on to an appointment in Danbury, an hourly booking fits: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Broomfield
Stansted Airport is the nearest, 17 miles west, 40–55 minutes by car, a single-terminal airport that served 29.76 million passengers in 2025. Southend Airport is 23 miles south-east, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.
London City Airport is 31 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Further away, Luton Airport is 60 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and Gatwick 65 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. If you are coming home after a trip, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Broomfield, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: Stansted means a cross-country drive towards the A120, and Gatwick needs the M25 and the Thames crossing. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Broomfield
Chelmsford city centre is 3 miles south, 15–20 minutes. Danbury, with its country park, is 10 miles to the east, 25–35 minutes.
Harwich, the port for Stena Line ferries to Hook of Holland, is 45 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes; leave room for the check-in time your ferry company gives. Cambridge is 43 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.
Motor racing fans can reach Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix, 96 miles away, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes. For a day there and back, book the car by the hour; with a single transfer the car leaves once you reach the circuit, and getting home is a second booking.

Groups & Event Travel in Broomfield
Take a team of clinicians or trainers visiting Broomfield Hospital for a course or a conference, flying in to Stansted from different cities. For a group like that, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, including equipment cases.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the team travels on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, with the hospital or the hotel as the destination.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early around bank holidays and in August. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
