Getting Around Oberhausen
Oberhausen has two centres. The older one lies around the Hauptbahnhof; the Neue Mitte, 3 km to the north-east and 10–15 minutes by car, was built on former industrial land. Its heart is Westfield Centro, opened on 12 September 1996, with more than 250 shops on 125,000 m² of retail space and 14,000 parking spaces. Around it stand the Rudolf Weber-Arena, with room for about 13,000 people, the Gasometer, a former gas holder listed on the European industrial heritage route, Sea Life and the Legoland Discovery Centre.
The ICE International calls at Oberhausen Hauptbahnhof on its route between Amsterdam and Frankfurt, which runs every two hours, and tram 112 links the station with the Neue Mitte. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a working day with meetings in Oberhausen, Mülheim and Duisburg, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. At Centro, name the entrance or car park you want.

Airport Transfers in Oberhausen
Düsseldorf Airport is 32 km south of Oberhausen, 40–55 minutes by car. Weeze Airport, towards the Dutch border, is 68 km away, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes. Dortmund Airport, 61 km east, takes 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route. Düsseldorf is a one-terminal airport with the piers A to C, and the SkyTrain links it with the long-distance station.
To the Neue Mitte, the drive from Düsseldorf Airport is 36 km, 40–55 minutes; on a concert evening at the arena, allow extra time around Centro.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Oberhausen, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 40–55 minutes to Düsseldorf Airport, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes to Dortmund. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Oberhausen
Oberhausen sits on the main line to the Netherlands, and the road follows the same direction. Amsterdam is 195 km away via the A3 and A12, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes, and Maastricht 139 km, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. Cologne is 76 km south on the A3, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Essen 16 km, 30–40 minutes. In Essen the car festival Motor Show opens its halls on 27 November 2026, and the Zollverein colliery joined the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001; in Cologne the food fair Anuga is held at the Koelnmesse from 9 to 13 October 2027.
If the ICE times do not suit your meeting, a car to Amsterdam leaves when you choose, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, the border with the Netherlands among them; a check on the return trip is possible. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Event Travel in Oberhausen
Oberhausen has hosted the International Short Film Festival since 1954. The 73rd edition is planned for 27 April to 2 May 2027. At the Neue Mitte, the Rudolf Weber-Arena hosts concerts, shows and international indoor sports events, and the Gasometer is used for exhibitions. Messe Essen is 16 km away on the A40; its board game fair SPIEL is held every October.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If filmmakers or a production crew land on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a touring team with cases and equipment, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
For the festival week and for big arena nights, plan your transfers ahead. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on such dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
