Getting Around Dortmund
Two of Dortmund's best-known addresses stand side by side on Strobelallee, south of the city centre. Signal Iduna Park, home of Borussia Dortmund, holds 81,365 spectators and is Germany's largest football stadium. Next door are the Westfalenhallen, the exhibition, concert and congress grounds, with more than 1,000 events and over 1.7 million visitors a year. When a match and a fair fall on the same day, the roads around Strobelallee are slow long before kick-off.
Long-distance trains stop at Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
The Ruhr cities run into each other here: Bochum is 21 km away, 30–40 minutes, and Hagen 27 km, 40–55 minutes. For a day that moves from an office in the centre to a stand at the Westfalenhallen and on to a client in Bochum, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
Parts of Dortmund lie inside the Ruhr low-emission zone (Umweltzone Ruhrgebiet). Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Dortmund
Dortmund Airport is 13 km east of the centre, 25–35 minutes by car. Its airlines include Eurowings, Wizz Air, Pegasus and SunExpress, with routes to cities in Eastern Europe such as Katowice and Bucharest and to holiday islands such as Mallorca.
For long-haul and network flights, Düsseldorf Airport is 64 km west, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes on the A40 and A52. Paderborn Lippstadt, 85 km to the east, is 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes away and mainly serves holiday routes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Dortmund, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 25–35 minutes to Dortmund Airport, and for a flight from Düsseldorf allow more time in the rush hours. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Dortmund
Düsseldorf, the state capital, is 69 km away on the A40 and A52, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes; its Messe holds the medical fair MEDICA every November and the boat show boot from 23 to 31 January 2027. Cologne is 98 km south-west by the A1 and A3, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and Carnival there reaches its high point on Rosenmontag, 8 February 2027. Booked door to door, the ride saves a change between regional trains and long-distance trains, and your bags travel with you the whole way.
A day trip to the Netherlands is realistic. Amsterdam is 239 km away, 2 hours 35 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes, and Maastricht 174 km, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes. The journey is booked like any other, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, so you may be stopped on the way back into Germany. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Dortmund
The Westfalenhallen are growing. Two new exhibition halls, of 5,000 and 10,000 m², are under construction, together with a congress centre and a south entrance on Strobelallee. A fair can bring exhibitors who arrive a day early with stand material, and delegates who fly in for a single session.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the team lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group heading to the same hall, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Dortmund's Christmas market fills the city centre for the last weeks of the year, around a giant tree on Hansaplatz, and home matches at Signal Iduna Park bring crowds throughout the season. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
