Airport Transfers from Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) to Oberhausen

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the terminal to the Rudolf Weber-Arena, DUS to a Centro entrance, or a hotel by the Hauptbahnhof back to the airport after the festival. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: DUS to a hotel at the Neue Mitte before the show, and back to the terminal the next day. For a concert weekend, or a festival guest with a screening on a fixed day, both rides are arranged together and nothing is left to sort out after a late night. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at DUS, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Düsseldorf Airport to Oberhausen: Route and Drive Time

Oberhausen is north of the airport, in the western Ruhr, and the car takes the A3 and A52 there. The trip is 32 km, usually 40–55 minutes, and the motorway section past Duisburg is where rush-hour traffic can add time.

The city has two centres, and which one you need changes the final leg. The older centre lies around the Hauptbahnhof. The Neue Mitte, built on former industrial land 3 km to the north-east, holds Westfield Centro, the Rudolf Weber-Arena and the Gasometer. To the Neue Mitte, the drive from the terminal is 36 km, still 40–55 minutes.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Put the flight number and the exact destination in the booking: the arena, a Centro entrance or a hotel by the station are three different places to stop.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Düsseldorf Airport

Some visitors to Oberhausen fly in for one evening only: a concert at the arena, which holds about 13,000 people, a show, an indoor sports event. If the doors open only a few hours after landing, the timing of the flight matters more than usual.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

Allow for a delayed aircraft when you choose your flight. With 40–55 minutes on the road and luggage still to collect, an early-afternoon landing leaves a sensible margin for an evening show. One terminal serves every flight, so there is no terminal to enter in the booking.

Arriving at Your Address in Oberhausen

The Neue Mitte holds the city's best-known addresses. Westfield Centro, opened on 12 September 1996, has more than 250 shops on 125,000 m² and 14,000 parking spaces. Next to the mall are the Rudolf Weber-Arena, the Gasometer, a former gas holder that now hosts exhibitions, Sea Life and the Legoland Discovery Centre.

With so many car parks and entrances, the name of the place alone is too vague. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up; for Centro or the arena, add the entrance or the car park you want.

The old centre is the other half of the city. Every two hours, the ICE International between Amsterdam and Frankfurt calls at the Hauptbahnhof, and tram 112 links it with the Neue Mitte.

From Oberhausen Back to Düsseldorf Airport

On the way out, the length of the drive is what to plan by: 40–55 minutes from the Neue Mitte or the old centre to the terminal, longer when the A3 is slow. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

DUS has a single terminal, so the car takes every departure to the same building.

The arena calendar affects the Oberhausen side. On a concert night, allow extra time for a pickup from a hotel at the Neue Mitte, as the roads around Centro serve the arena crowd as well. For a morning flight after a late show, book the pickup when you book the tickets. Guests of Messe Essen who stay in Oberhausen, for the Essen Motor Show at the turn of November and December, or for SPIEL in October, plan the ride out in the same way.
