Getting Around Leverkusen
Leverkusen grew up around Bayer. The company has been here since 1891 and has had its global headquarters in the city since 1912. Its old works on the Rhine are now the Chempark, a chemical park run by Currenta that is shared by many companies; in 2022 more than 34,000 people worked at the Leverkusen site. If your visit names a gate and a site address, put both in the booking.
The town lies where three motorways meet: the A1, the A3 and the A59 all pass through it. That makes Cologne 18 km away, 30–40 minutes, and Düsseldorf 36 km, 40–55 minutes, with Solingen 23 km to the east.
Leverkusen Mitte and Leverkusen Chempark stations are on S-Bahn line S6 between Cologne and Düsseldorf; for ICE and international trains you change in Cologne. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a day split between a site visit at the Chempark, lunch in Cologne and a meeting in Düsseldorf, reserve the car by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Leverkusen
Leverkusen sits between two airports. Cologne Bonn Airport is 23 km south-east, 30–40 minutes by car via the A3 and A59. Düsseldorf Airport is 46 km north, 45 minutes to 1 hour, and offers more long-haul flights. Dortmund Airport, 87 km away, is 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
The A1 crosses the Rhine at Leverkusen on a new bridge. Its first half has carried traffic in both directions since February 2024, and the second half is under construction, so lanes and slip roads near the Leverkusen junctions can change during the works.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Leverkusen, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 30–40 minutes to Cologne Bonn on a clear road, more when the motorway junctions around the town are congested. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Leverkusen
The A3 and A1 take you north into the Ruhr. Essen is 58 km away, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, so a production site or head office there is an easy return trip in one day. RWE, thyssenkrupp, Hochtief and Evonik have their headquarters in Essen, and Messe Essen next to the Grugapark hosts about 50 events a year. With the car booked from your door to the destination, you skip a change of trains with luggage in Cologne or Düsseldorf.
Amsterdam is 250 km north-west along the A3, 2 hours 40 minutes to 3 hours 35 minutes. For a meeting there, or a flight from Schiphol, the journey is one booking, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border. Maastricht is closer, 114 km, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Maastricht's MECC is where the TEFAF art fair takes place every March, listed for 13–18 March in 2027.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, including the border with the Netherlands. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Event Travel in Leverkusen
A group in Leverkusen may come for work at the Chempark or at Bayer: auditors, engineering teams, partners from abroad. A team staying in town for a project needs a morning run to the site and an evening run back, and its members may not all arrive on the same flight. Cologne's big dates also reach Leverkusen hotels: gamescom at Koelnmesse in late August, and Carnival, which in 2027 peaks on 8 February.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a project team flies in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For colleagues going to the same site at the same time, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
If your visit falls in a Cologne fair week or Carnival, book as soon as the dates are confirmed. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early at those times. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
